What is the coater for?

The coater is an important equipment in the coating equipment series, and it is a machine for quantitatively coating liquid polymer materials such as adhesives or coatings on the surface of materials, including gluing, drying, winding and tension control. Suitable for the production of soft substrates such as PVC/PE film. What kinds of coaters are there? Let's have a look. 1. What is the coater used for?

The coating machine is mainly used for the surface coating process of films and papers. This machine coats a layer of glue, paint or ink with specific functions on the rolled substrate, and then rolls it up after drying. Using special multifunctional coating head, various forms of surface coating can be realized. The winding and unwinding of the coater are equipped with full-speed automatic film connecting mechanism, and the tension of PLC program is controlled automatically in closed loop.

2. What kinds of coaters are there?

1, brush type

Brush coater is the oldest coating equipment, which was originally used to produce coated wall wallpaper with porcelain clay paint in 1950s. There are three different types of brush heads: circular brush head, blanket roller head and blanket sleeve head.

2. Air knife

The appearance of air knife coater in 1930s marked the birth of modern paper coating industry. Air-knife coater just overcame the above shortcomings of brush coater and quickly gained popularity, which greatly increased the output of coated paper.

3, scraper type

The first patent of blade coater appeared in 1950s. Since then, the blade coater technology has developed rapidly. According to the different feeding equipment, scraper type and scraper installation position, the scraper coating head is also divided into many types, such as hard-edge scraper coater, scraper coater, soft-edge scraper coater, fountain feed scraper coater, short-stay scraper coater, scraper coater and scraper roller coater.

4. Roller type

Roller coating is to coat the coating surface with coating roller, which is the main coater in the machine. The coating amount can be adjusted by the pressure between metering rollers. When the pressure is increased, the coating amount will decrease. Types of roll coater: Pressure roll coater, Reverse roll coater, Transfer roll coater and Gravure roll coater.

Step 5 spray

Spraying technology is a non-contact coating method, which uses controllable high-pressure spraying technology to coat paper or paperboard on one side or both sides (sizing).

Step 6: curtain coating

The multi-layer curtain coater can give the surface of inkjet printing paper a three-layer structure (bottom layer, absorption layer and top layer) only by one coating operation, and can obtain uniform coating on the uneven paper surface.

7. Slit coating

The slit coating head comprises a coating liquid storage tank; A pump for pumping the coating liquid in the coating liquid storage tank to the nozzle through a supply pipeline; The control part is used to control the operation of the pump and the nozzle, and the pressure detection part is used to detect the pipeline pressure. When the pressure reaches the preset pressure condition, the nozzle discharges the coating liquid.
