The R&D Department consists of the Scientific Research Management Section, the Technology Section, and four key laboratories - Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Laboratory, Natural Medicine Research Laboratory, Chemical Drug Research Laboratory, and Drug Analysis Laboratory. Among them, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Natural Medicine Research Laboratory mainly focuses on the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine, research on modern drug preparations and health food research, and is the main technical support for the company's traditional Chinese medicine varieties; the Natural Medicine Research Laboratory is mainly engaged in the research and development of marine active substances; chemical drugs The research laboratory is mainly engaged in the research and development of biosynthetic drugs; the drug analysis laboratory is mainly engaged in drug analysis and quality standard research. The Technology Section is mainly responsible for the research of large-scale production process parameters, optimization and improvement of process routes, solving problems existing in the process, formulating and publishing production process regulations, etc. The R&D Department also hosts the national academic journal "Chinese Marine Medicines".

The main research direction in recent years is the research and development of traditional Chinese medicine, natural medicine and marine medicine, while also expanding into the research and development fields of chemical drugs and health food. The use positioning of new products mainly focuses on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, respiratory diseases and digestive system diseases. Through continuous exploration, we have gradually established a research and development model that combines independent development with industry, academia, and research. So far, it has established cooperative relationships with more than 10 well-known domestic universities, scientific research institutes and private institutions, and has had successful cooperation with more than 10 domestic leading clinical pharmacology bases.
In recent years, the R&D Department has obtained 14 new drugs approved by the state, 4 health food products, 9 national invention patents, and 10 projects currently under research.
