I bought a sweeping robot to clean the whole house, which saved the trouble of manpower, so I carried out the whole house cleaning test first. iRobot？ Roomba？ 528 is simple and does not need to set any mode. It adopts iAdapt's exclusive patented intelligent technology. Just press the cleaning key to start it, and it will automatically calculate the size of the space and choose the appropriate cleaning method (iRobot? Roomba？ There are four cleaning methods, namely spiral cleaning, edge cleaning, cross cleaning and dirt detection.

My house is about 85 square meters, big and small. After I press the cleaning button, it automatically starts cleaning. At first, I followed it and observed it. This is not rampage, but very organized. It moves slowly, and when it hits an obstacle, it will go back and choose another route. Later, I found that it was really too careful. It bounced back and forth several times, then gave up and continued to follow. Keep the goods and play with them as you like.
I roughly calculated the time, about 2 hours 10 minutes. Roomba was cleaned and returned to the charging stand safely. Originally, I thought the floor at home should not be too dirty because of the usual cleaning. As a result, I took down the dust box and found a lot of dust and hair. Roomba's cleaning ability can be seen.
2. Local cleaning
One function of this Roomba is local cleaning, that is to say, if you press the local key on the central control, it will focus on cleaning a small area, which is about the diameter of 1 meter. Spiral cleaning is generally used. In this regard, I put some newly swept dust and garbage to test.

Judging from the measured results, Roomba's performance feels average. After startup, Roomba started spiral cleaning and the fuselage rotated. I always do three tests. In the first two times, it seems that its ability to detect dirt has decreased, and it only focuses on its own rotating area and keeps cleaning, while the dust at hand is always skipped, even in the process of rotation, because of its own exhaust, it directly blows away the dust. But the third test, through my own adjustment of its direction, it searched for dust and completed cleaning, with a completion rate of about 90%.
Clean the kitchen
The kitchen has always been a dirty place at home, and I also focused on testing its performance in the kitchen.
As you can see from the video, Roomba cleaned up all the areas, and through repeated mobile cleaning, it cleaned up the garbage that I set up artificially. But there is a problem, that is, it is difficult to limit it to the kitchen area because you didn't buy virtual wall accessories. It tried to "escape" several times before it was cleaned up.
Explain the virtual wall a little. Roomba provides two kinds of virtual walls, which are suitable for all its models. The first one is called virtual? The wall, that is, the virtual wall, will form an invisible 2-meter-long conical barrier, so that the sweeping robot will not cross it, thus restricting it from working in a specific room or area and preventing it from getting close to ground cables, cabinets or fragile items. At the same time, the virtual wall can also form an invisible ring around itself to prevent the robot from getting too close.
The other is a halo? Virtual? Wall, annular virtual wall, also applies to all models. This virtual wall is mainly suitable for families with pets. It can establish an invisible protected area and guide the robot around without touching the utensils containing pet food or water.
Step 4 clean corners
The cleanliness of corners may also be an important indicator for us to test Roomba's cleaning ability. I chose the corner of the kitchen and the corner of the living room. Because my sofa sits on the floor, I can't get in. So I moved the sofa and set up a small space for it to clean.
As can be seen from the video, in the corner of the kitchen, Roomba performed very well, repeatedly approaching and touching clean. In the corner of the living room, although Roomba's cleaning was not completed at one time, all the rubbish on the ground was cleaned up through repeated cleaning in different routes. At the same time, the dirt detection light (blue) also lights up from time to time, mainly to clean up the detected garbage. But for some dead corners, because of the fuselage and side brush, it can't be completely cleaned, but it basically cleans up the accessible area.
As for the cleaning part, I simply did four tests. To sum up:
1, the cleaning ability of the whole house is very good, and its own iAdapt technology allows Roomba to easily shuttle through the room and clean the room through the transformation of four cleaning methods. However, the process is too lengthy, so it is recommended to start before going out in the morning and stay at home to clean.
2. Some people think that it is unnecessary to set a time or work mode for cleaning at home. Through the actual measurement, I think it is completely unnecessary, because if you start cleaning with one button, Roomba will calculate the cleaning space and time by itself, and will automatically return to the charging station for charging after cleaning. (Of course, the premise is to set up a charging stand. ) Of course, this model (model 567 or above) has no time setting function for scheduled cleaning, so there is no way to clean it regularly.
3. In terms of local cleaning, it is a bit disappointing, and the detection ability is slightly poor, so it is impossible to accurately complete the cleaning task. Through the actual measurement, I found that it is best to have someone with me when using the local area, otherwise you may miss the garbage you want to sweep away.
4. The cleaning ability of the fixed area is also very good, and the cleaning is very clean. But if you want to limit it to one area, you'd better configure a virtual wall.
5. Excellent corner cleaning performance. However, for its hard-to-reach dead corner, you may still need to move the handle yourself to complete the cleaning.
6. Finally, talk about the right people. Through the test, I think this sweeping robot is very suitable for young people who are busy at work and usually have no time to clean the house. Of course, for the elderly at home, iRobot? Roomba？ 528 is easy to operate and has a high degree of automation, so it can be easily used with a little learning.
