How do neighbors deal with mosquitoes? I thought it was unnecessary to hang mosquito nets.

Zhuangzi: The fate of heaven.

Mosquitoes lick their skin and can't sleep at night. Guo Guanzi said. Mosquitoes fly down a thousand miles of streams. ...

Even Zhuangzi at large wants to cry, mosquito.

So how to effectively eliminate mosquitoes and control mosquito density?

First of all, mosquito nets

This is the most effective way to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes. For the poor in ancient times, even if they borrowed money, they had to take a bed to resist the surging mosquito tide in summer. "There are many mosquitoes in summer, and poverty is nothing", and "debt" still refers to mosquito nets.

Although mosquito nets are particularly good, people can't stay in them all the time. If a hole is broken, mosquitoes will take advantage of it.

Second, the chemical method

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended four mosquito repellent products, including DEET (also known as DEET), Imonone (also known as IR3535, mosquito repellent fat), Eckaridin (also known as Pekaridin) and eucalyptus citriodora leaf oil (or its effective component PMD).

DEET and Imonone are the two most common mosquito repellent ingredients at present. DEET was developed by the U.S. military, and 1957 was used for civilian use. Scientists once thought that DEET could paralyze the olfactory system of mosquitoes, making them unable to distinguish mushroom alcohol (1- octene -3- alcohol) emitted by human body. But according to a 2008 study by the University of California, Davis, mosquitoes just don't like DEET. Immonen has a short history. A laboratory experiment in Florida A&M University in 2004 showed that the same concentration of 65,438+00% and 20% of Imonone and DEET had the same mosquito repellent effect on Aedes aegypti and Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus. Eckaridin, 1998, developed by Bayer Pharmaceuticals, a German chemical company, is also very harmful to mosquitoes. In a field experiment in Brazil in 2007, seven commercial formulations with the concentration of 10%~20% contained Immonen or ecadine, all of which had repellent effect on Aedes aegypti for 5 to 7 hours.

"Nature" is not an effective synonym for mosquito repellent. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended only one plant ingredient, namely eucalyptus citriodora leaf oil. Although many vegetable oils, such as clove, mint, geranium, catnip, Callicarpa, etc. It has mosquito repellent effect and is too volatile. It needs to be applied repeatedly to take effect. A laboratory study published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2002 showed that seven products containing natural plant extracts (such as citronella oil, peppermint oil and geranium) had protective effects on Aedes aegypti for less than 20 minutes. A soybean oil product can last nearly one and a half hours, which is slightly higher than the low concentration (4.75%) of DEET. The other two products using lemon eucalyptus oil can last for about two hours. However, in this experiment, the average avoidance time of products containing 7.5% Imonone is only 20 minutes.

Other chemical weapons, belonging to pesticides rather than insect repellents, are not so kind to mosquitoes. Pyrethroids in pyrethrum can poison mosquitoes. Crush its flowers and mix them with sawdust and spices. And light them, this is an original "mosquito-repellent incense". The commonly used "spiral mosquito-repellent incense" was invented by the Japanese at the end of 19. This shape can burn longer than a slender mosquito-repellent incense stick, and it is very popular after it is introduced.

Pyrethroids have a wide range of insecticidal activities and are almost harmless to people, but they are unstable in air and sunlight. Later, with pyrethroids, these shortcomings were overcome. Now, they can be seen in all kinds of mosquito-repellent incense and electric mosquito-repellent incense tablets-permethrin, permethrin, allethrin, bifenthrin, cypermethrin and so on.

Third, the mosquito killer

At present, all mosquito killers on the market rely on purple light to attract mosquitoes, and then suck mosquitoes into mosquito storage boxes through vortex fans, but blood-sucking mosquitoes eat according to the taste felt by their mouthparts. Mosquitoes have evolved for hundreds of millions of years. Can feel the existence of carbon dioxide source at a distance, and then fly to find the source of blood, that is, us. When we are close to 36 meters, we can clearly feel the lactic acid and body odor discharged by our metabolism to locate our position and start eating. So it's really useless to rely on lights alone.

At present, two mosquito killers on the market are not bad.

The first one is American mm.

Mosquito killer uses special catalytic technology to convert liquefied petroleum gas into carbon dioxide, which is close to the temperature and humidity of human body. Adopting patented negative pressure technology, a strong attractive smell is formed at the horn of the machine to attract mosquitoes into the mosquito net bag.

The second is Dinkel.

Mo Dinkel CO2 mosquito trap uses bionics principle to imitate the breath of human or animal physiological activities, attracting a large number of female mosquitoes to approach and then kill them. After a period of use, the breeding chain of mosquitoes is cut off, and the density of mosquitoes in the control area is kept at a low level, and there will be no more bites. It has been scientifically proved that only female mosquitoes will bite people and animals to feed their eggs during the breeding period; Mosquitoes track their targets through human respiration and carbon dioxide, moisture, body odor, temperature and color difference released from the body surface. Mo Dinkel's CO2 mosquito killer imitates carbon dioxide, moisture and heat emitted by human breath, and at the same time releases a faint smell similar to human body odor. By combining with the attractant specially developed by our company and releasing it into the air, it has an irresistible attraction to female blood-sucking mosquitoes. The head of the mosquito trap is equipped with 365nm ultraviolet rays which are irresistible and stable to mosquitoes, killing phototropic pests while attracting mosquitoes. The attraction provided by the fan in the mosquito trap can inhale and dry mosquitoes, so that mosquitoes and the viruses they carry die in the mosquito trap. The whole process does not use chemicals to kill mosquitoes, so there is no poison.

The machine is also equipped with information alcohol that mimics human metabolism and lactic acid excreted by body odor.

Made a project, and the effect is good.

But the above two machines control the mosquito density at a very low level, ranging from 200m2, but there are still a few mosquitoes.

Mosquitoes have lived for hundreds of millions of years and evolved countless times. There is really no perfect ending method at present.
