Can broad beans be planted in greenhouses now? How come?
Vicia faba planted out of season must be vernalized (low temperature) in the germination stage before it can blossom and bear fruit normally in the greenhouse. Reference method: Select suitable varieties, soak the seeds at about 20 degrees Celsius for 18 hours, and then wash the seeds with clear water to accelerate germination. The germination temperature is controlled at about 20 degrees Celsius, and the humidity is controlled above 90%. When the number of exposed seeds reaches 30%, put the seeds into the cold storage for vernalization, sprinkle the seeds to be vernalized on wet cotton cloth, and then cover them with black film to avoid light. The low-temperature vernalization temperature is 2-4℃ for 20-25 days.
