Implementation Rules for Undergraduate Students to Study for Master’s Degree Without Examination (currently applicable to graduates graduating in 2009)
According to the "Recommendation of China University of Geosciences (Beijing)" "Interim Measures for Undergraduate Students to Study for Master's Degrees Without Examination", in order to ensure fairness, justice and openness in the promotion and exemption work, these measures are specially formulated.
1. Conditions for recommended students
1. Excellent both in character and academics, with comprehensive moral, intellectual and physical development, and with a promising future.
2. Excellent academic performance, with a grade point average of 3.0 or above (including elective courses), and no failing records in required courses.
3. The English score must pass CET-4 (no less than 425 points).
4. Good health.
2. Allocation of quotas
According to the number of undergraduates in each major, quotas are allocated at a ratio of 17.5, and the school brand major (exploration technology and engineering) is allocated at a ratio of 19.5.

1. Each major is ranked according to the grade point (including elective courses), and the qualifications for exemption are obtained from high to low.
2. If the credit scores are the same, priority will be given to:
a) Three good students and outstanding student cadres at or above the municipal level;
b) In official publications Publish academic papers as the first author;
c) Obtain national patent (ranked first);
d) Win third prize or above in national or municipal individual competitions.
e) Those who have passed CET-6 in English.
f) Those who are the same as above will be comprehensively assessed by the college.
3. Those with the highest grade point rankings in each major will have priority in enjoying the qualification for off-campus exemption. Those with the highest ranking will give up the qualification for off-campus exemption and will be filled by qualified students in the major.

Applicants should fill in the China University of Geosciences (Beijing) fresh undergraduates’ application form for recommended master’s degree students without examination and attach the transcript with the official seal of the college.
If students who have obtained recommendation qualifications fail in required courses, have average or lower grades in graduation projects, cheat on exams, or seriously violate school rules and disciplines in their future studies, their recommendation qualifications will be cancelled.
