For ordinary people, they can enjoy the efficient 5G network brought by the three major operators in advance. On the other hand, for Huawei, ZTE and other 5G infrastructure equipment vendors, it can be said that it is a great benefit.
According to the original plan of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China's 5G test will be divided into two steps:
The first step, from 20 16 to 20 18, is to carry out experiments on 5G technology, with the main goal of supporting the formulation of 5G international standards;
The second step is to carry out the experiment of 5G products from 20 18 to the end of 2020. The main goal is to conduct 5G pre-commercial testing.
According to this timetable, the industry agrees that China should realize the pre-commercialization of 5G communication in 20 19 and realize the large-scale formal commercialization of 5G communication in 2020.
Why should we deploy 5G commercialization in advance? According to the announcement of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, there are three main reasons:
1. At present, the global 5G is entering a critical period of commercial deployment. Adhering to the combination of independent innovation and open cooperation, China's 5G industry has established a competitive advantage.
The 2.5G standard is a unified international standard jointly formulated by the global industry, and the standard essential patents declared by China account for more than 30%.
3. In the technical trial stage, many foreign companies, such as Nokia, Ericsson, Qualcomm and Intel, have been deeply involved. With the joint efforts of all parties, China 5G has a commercial foundation.
Statistics show that at present, the three major operators have conducted 5G tests in many places, laying a good foundation for 5G commercialization.
China Mobile has conducted field tests in five cities: Hangzhou, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Suzhou and Wuhan. More than 100 5G base stations will be built in each city, and 5G services and applications will be demonstrated in 12 cities such as Beijing, Chengdu and Shenzhen. The pilot city of China Telecom is "6+6", including six cities previously determined: Xiong 'an, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Suzhou, Chengdu and Lanzhou. This year, China Unicom plans to carry out pilot projects in Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Guiyang, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Fuzhou, Zhengzhou, Shenyang and other cities 16.
