Zunhua City has a long history and culture. It is a "thousand-year-old county" named by the United Nations Geographical Names Expert Group. It has a documented history of more than 2,200 years. From the first to the fourth year of Tianbao (742-745), it was located 90 years northeast of Yutian County There is Pingzhou Horse Buying Prison (horse breeding institution). After the Five Dynasties and the Tang Dynasty, Zunhua County was established from Yutian County. Zunhua means "following the teachings of Confucius and Mencius and educating the common people."
Zunhua has Yanshan Mountain on its head, Luanshui River on its body, the Great Wall to the north, Beijing to the west, Tianjin and Tang Dynasties to the south, and Liaoshen to the east. Zunhua City is located in the northeast of Hebei Province and the northwest of Tangshan City. It borders Qianxi County to the east, Fengrun District and Yutian County to the south, Ji County, Tianjin City to the west, and Xinglong County to the north by the Great Wall. It is between 39°55′～40°22′ north latitude and 117°34′～118°14′ east longitude. It is 140 kilometers away from the capital Beijing, 380 kilometers away from the provincial capital Shijiazhuang City, and 66 kilometers away from Tangshan City.
The city borders Xinli Village in Dongling Township in the west, Jieguanting Village in Kaoshanzhuang Town in the east, Hongshankou Village at the foot of the Great Wall in the north, and Nanxiaoying Village in Dangyu Town in the south.
