What are the electroplating processes?

Electroplating processes include direct electroplating, pre-electroplating, composite electroplating, pulse electroplating and alternating current electroplating.

Direct electroplating: refers to the method of directly electroplating metal on the surface of pretreated substrate, and the coating is generally thin.

Pre-plating: also known as pre-plating, it refers to pre-depositing a metal substrate layer on the base metal, and then depositing decorative metal on it. Pre-plating can not only be used as the bottom layer of decorative electroplating, but also make the substrate and decorative metal better combined.

Composite electroplating: When depositing metal, other metal or nonmetal materials are also deposited to form composite coating.

Pulse electroplating: an electroplating method in which a pulse power supply is used instead of a DC power supply. Pulse electroplating can reduce the cathodic polarization, increase the deposition rate and make the coating brighter and more detailed.

Alternating current electroplating: electroplating method using alternating current. Alternating current electroplating can obtain better coverage and thinner coating on the surface of parts.

Application of electroplating process

1. Automobile manufacturing: manufacturing and processing automobile parts by electroplating process, such as galvanized steel plates and chrome-plated parts. Coating can improve the corrosion resistance and appearance quality of parts.

2. Electronic manufacturing: In the field of electronic manufacturing, electroplating technology is used to manufacture precise components such as circuit boards, connectors and sensors. Electroplating can improve the conductivity and corrosion resistance of these parts.

3. Aerospace: In the aerospace field, electroplating technology is used to manufacture high-strength and corrosion-resistant parts, such as aero-engine parts and spacecraft structural parts.

4. Light industry manufacturing: Electroplating process is used to manufacture light industry products, such as light furniture and light building structures. Coating can improve the corrosion resistance and appearance quality of these products.

5. Ornament manufacturing: Decorations are manufactured by electroplating process, such as gold plating, silver plating and chromium plating. Coatings can give decorations a unique appearance and texture.
