Why do red roses symbolize love?

Roses are known as the "king of flowers", especially red roses, which give people a warm and pure feeling. Burns, an English poet, once compared his lover to a "red rose in full bloom in June". The metaphor is appropriate and almost a household name. People in love regard red roses as a symbol of love.

As the "king of flowers", it is not surprising that roses are widely loved by people.

About 5000 years ago, the Egyptian Pharaoh planted roses in the garden of his palace. Some pharaohs even put roses in their graves as funerary objects. In Britain, two famous royal armies wear different roses in their uniforms; Lancaster family wears red roses, and York family wears white roses.

Therefore, when there was a war between the two families in the15th century, people called it the "Red and White Wars of Roses". Later, when the war ended and the two families got back together, people called a new rose which was a hybrid of red and white roses "York and Lancaster" as a souvenir. Therefore, red and white roses are symbolic of reconciliation and friendship. In order to show friendship, people often give roses to each other, and the feelings between lovers are stronger. They often choose red roses as gifts for their sweethearts to express their warm and deep love. Especially after the poet's deep affection for the red rose, people gradually regard the red rose as a symbol of love, making it a "patent" for lovers.

There is a Greek legend that the god of the earth decorated himself with red roses to win Cupid's arrow of love. This is of course just a beautiful myth and legend, but one thing is certain, that is, this red rose has brought us countless beautiful hopes.
