1. Spouses are forbidden to live with others. In view of some new problems in social life, the promulgation of the new marriage law has added provisions in the general provisions: husband and wife should be faithful to each other and respect each other. The second paragraph of Article 3 of the Law is amended as: Bigamy is prohibited. Spouses are prohibited from living together with others. The revised marriage law stipulates in the chapter of legal responsibility that bigamy shall be investigated for criminal responsibility according to law. The victim may file a private prosecution with the people's court in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Criminal Procedure Law; The public security organ shall investigate according to law, and the people's procuratorate shall initiate public prosecution according to law. In the chapter on divorce, the revised Marriage Law clearly stipulates that if a man or a woman asks for a divorce because of bigamy or cohabitation with others, mediation is invalid and divorce should be granted. The revised Marriage Law also stipulates that if a spouse divorces because of bigamy or cohabitation with others, the innocent party has the right to claim damages.
The second is to add invalid marriage and revocable marriage system. Compared with the previous marriage law, the newly revised marriage law has added many new legal principles and systems of marriage and family, among which invalid marriage and revocable marriage system are one. After the promulgation of the new marriage law, it is clearly stipulated that a marriage under any of the following circumstances is invalid:
(1) Bigamy;
(2) Having a kinship that prohibits marriage;
(three) suffering from diseases that are medically unsuitable for marriage before marriage, and are not cured after marriage;
(four) under the legal age of marriage. The revised Marriage Law also stipulates that if a marriage is coerced, the coerced party may request the marriage registration authority or the people's court to cancel the marriage.
