Nowadays, online lending has become more and more common in people's lives. In the past, loans needed to be applied at the bank counter or through the bank's credit manager. Now there is another way of lending, that is, online lending. As a new loan method, is it credible to apply for small loans online? Will you meet a liar?

Pingdu city Public Security Bureau recently cracked a series of telecom fraud cases in the name of "online loan", exposing five online loan scams. As of May 4th, Pingdu police have verified more than one case 10, involving a value of 1.2 million yuan. The suspects Wang Mojie and Zhang Li (pseudonym) were criminally detained by the public security organs according to law, and the case is still under investigation. The police also disclosed the five major scams of online lending to the rule of law weekend reporter.

Online loans were defrauded of nearly 60,000.

In April this year, Li Hong (a pseudonym) of Pingdu urgently needed a sum of cash to do business. When she saw someone doing loan business from a QQ group, she added the other person's WeChat, named "Ignorance".

"At first, this person said that it was a loan through an online shopping platform. Only when the credit value is high can it be successfully processed. He asked me to buy things and send them to his designated place, saying that this would quickly improve my credibility. I bought it twice, and he asked me for a deposit to invoice, sometimes one or two thousand, sometimes four or five thousand, and at most more than nine thousand at a time, so I did as he said. " Li Hong said.

Since April 8, Li Hong has paid Ignorance for more than ten times, totaling 57,000 yuan. On April 22, after Li Hong transferred two more money, he found that the other party deleted his WeChat friend and disappeared. At this moment, Li Hongcai woke up and realized that he had been cheated. She immediately reported the case to Chengguan Police Station of pingdu city Public Security Bureau.

After receiving the alarm, the anti-fraud squadron of the Criminal Investigation Brigade of pingdu city Public Security Bureau immediately cooperated with the Chengguan police station to carry out the investigation.

Because Li Hong traded with the criminal suspect on the third-party payment platform, the public security organs could not understand the transaction details and other information, which brought great difficulties to investigation and evidence collection. With the technical support of the public security organs at higher levels, Pingdu police successfully locked the criminal suspect's payment platform account 982 17xxxx@qq.com, and learned the bank card bound to it. The names of both accounts are a person named Wang Mojie. Subsequently, they frozen the account involved.

"After Wang Mojie was frozen, he quickly called us. Because Wang Mojie didn't know the extent of our case handling, he admitted that he had handled the online loan for the victim Li Hong during the call, but he didn't contact Li Hong because the application was unsuccessful. " Xu Qiulin, a policeman of the anti-fraud squadron of the Criminal Investigation Brigade of pingdu city Public Security Bureau, told the rule of law weekend reporter, "We told Wang Moujie to bring relevant procedures to the public security organ to prove that he had nothing to do with this fraud case, and the account can be unfrozen, but Wang Moujie did not appear."

The police thus determined that the suspect who defrauded Li Hong of 57,000 yuan in the name of online loans was Wang Mojie.

In addition, according to the clues provided by Li Hong, the suspect who spoke to her many times by phone was a woman, and the police judged that Wang Moujie had an accomplice. The police took the initiative to arrest the suspect Wang Mojie and his girlfriend Zhang Li in pingdu city on May 4th by inquiring about the information and running track of Wang Mojie's private car.

"I just want to cheat more money."

After arriving at the case, the suspects Wang Mojie and Zhang Li confessed to the crime of committing telecom fraud in the name of online lending.

Wang Mojie confessed that he is a couple. They started to be online loan intermediaries at the beginning of last year. Advertise on QQ, WeChat and other chat platforms to introduce others to increase the credit card limit and earn 200 yuan every time. But it didn't take long for Wang Mojie to make less money, so he discussed with Zhang Li that he was exploring online shopping platform loans to get money faster. So they advertised in the chat group, claiming that they could apply for online loans.

According to Xu Qiulin, a policeman, every time someone contacts them, they will make a loan under the pretext of improving the credibility of the online shopping platform, so that the victims can buy online first to improve their credibility, and all the purchases will be sent to Zhang Li. Then they ask the victims for various deposits, handling fees, invoice fees, etc. Disguised, ranging from several hundred yuan to several thousand yuan at a time. Some victims gave up after paying several times and found that they could not apply for a loan, while others kept paying until they found out they were cheated.

"As long as someone calls us, we first ask him for the account number and password of the online shopping platform. If their credit value is low, it is impossible to apply for a loan, so we ask him for all kinds of money. Sometimes they don't believe us at first, or they quit and ask us for money. I will ask Zhang Li to pretend that the customer service of the online shopping platform calls them and let them continue to cooperate. In fact, we have never borrowed money, so we want to cheat more money in this way. " Wang Mojie confessed.

According to a preliminary investigation by Pingdu police, since last year, many victims have been cheated all over the country (some victims have not reported the case because the amount of fraud is not large). At present, more than one case 10 has been investigated, involving a value of10.2 million yuan. At present, two suspects have been criminally detained according to law, and the case is still under investigation.

Entrepreneurial couples fall into the online loan trap.

Coincidentally, recently, the Land Rover Police Station of gaoqing county Public Security Bureau received an alarm from Liu Min (a pseudonym), a villager in Shandong Land Rover Street, saying that he was cheated when handling online loans.

Liu Min told the police station that the husband and wife are going to start a small business this year, but the start-up funds are insufficient, and there is still a gap of 1 10,000 yuan under the patchwork. On this day, he found an advertisement link of online loan while surfing the Internet, and added the "customer service staff" of the loan website through QQ with a try-and-see attitude. So, the customer service staff gave Liu Min a loan contract, which covered a lot of content and was very detailed. Such an exquisite contract made Liu Min's doubts suddenly disappear.

After signing the contract with the other party, the "customer service staff" proposed that the loan should be mortgaged by personal credit first. As Liu Min didn't have a formal job, the "customer service staff" asked Liu Min to pay 3,000 yuan in insurance money. Without thinking, he completed the transfer of 3000 yuan through Alipay provided by the other party. The "customer service staff" said that the loan procedure has already started, and Liu Min and other funds have arrived.

On the morning of May 7th, Liu Min discovered that his QQ had been hacked by the customer service staff, only then did he realize that he had been cheated.

The police told Liu Min that there is no real "unsecured loan" on the Internet at present. These suspects only use the urgency of the victim's urgent need for loans to attract victims with ultra-low loan thresholds. Once the victim contacts him, the suspect will sign a loan contract with the victim step by step by fax, encouraging the victim to pay the money into the designated account on the grounds that the loan needs to pay the deposit, interest and check balance first, and finally achieve the purpose of fraud.

Five scams of online lending

As a new loan method, is it credible to apply for small loans online? Will you meet a liar? What are the scams of online microfinance? Xu Qiulin disclosed the five scams of online lending to the rule of law weekend reporter.

Scam 1: no guarantee is needed.

Many online loan advertisements advertise that their home loans are "unsecured and unsecured". In fact, they use these false advertisements to attract those who are in urgent need of loans and guide them into scams. The "loan" in this kind of scam has almost no loan conditions, no mortgage, no guarantee and extremely low interest. But this is neither usury nor setting a threshold. Is there really such a good thing? Borrowers should think carefully.

Scam 2: the loan must be repaid first.

Generally speaking, formal lending institutions will not charge any fees before the loan is successful. Therefore, if the borrower needs to ask the borrower to pay fees and other fees in advance when applying for a loan online, then 99% of the chances are that he has met a liar.

Trick 3: The expected annualized interest rate of the loan is extremely low.

Generally speaking, compared with other lending institutions, the expected annualized interest rate of bank loans is relatively low. Therefore, if the borrower applies for a small loan online and the lending institution claims that the expected annualized interest rate of its loan products is the same as or even lower than that of bank loans, it is likely to be a liar.

Scam 4: Just need an ID card.

Mortgage loan needs collateral, and unsecured loan also needs the borrower to have a stable job, bank salary and good personal credit to successfully apply. There is no such thing as a loan with only one ID card. If the other party says that you can get a loan with your ID card when handling online micro-loans, then the other party must be a liar.

Scam 5: no need to meet and fax the contract.

Although online loans can submit application materials online, they usually choose to sign the contract in person in the end, so the other party says "no need to fax the contract in person", so you really have to think about it. Don't fall into the trap.

Xu Qiulin said that people who need loans should not believe the false information published on the Internet, tabloids and leaflets, and must borrow from banks or entity loan companies through formal channels. If you really need to borrow from an online loan company, you should choose a regular online loan company. These companies have formal websites for filing and are registered in the industrial and commercial departments. Once you are found cheated, you should call 1 10 to report to the police in time to try to recover the loss.
