The development of history
Founded in 1984, the school has gone through the stages of Shanghai Institute of Political Science and Law Management, Shanghai Law School and Shanghai University Law School. Undergraduate students are admitted from 1993 and graduate students from 1998. In September, 2004, Shanghai Municipal People's Government approved Shanghai University of Political Science and Law as an institution in independent undergraduate course. 2065438+2004 10, the school was handed over to the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission for management, and was established by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Justice.

The school adheres to the discipline construction and leads the development. The discipline of law (including international law, administrative law, prison science, financial law, and environmental and resource protection law) is a first-class plateau discipline in Shanghai, and has formed a number of characteristic disciplines (directions) such as international law, administrative law, prison science, criminology, environmental and resource protection law, international politics, and the sinicization of Marxism. Some disciplines are in a leading position in Shanghai and even the whole country. At present, there are three master's programs in law, Marxist theory and journalism and communication, and four master's programs in law, international business, social work and journalism and communication. The school cooperates with Zhejiang University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Dalian Maritime University and Macau University of Science and Technology to train doctoral students, and cooperates with East China University of Political Science and Law to train postdoctoral students. Prison science and social work are national specialties; Law, law (direction of criminal justice), prison science, social work and international politics are the highlands of undergraduate education in Shanghai. Law and business administration are the pilot majors of comprehensive reform of undergraduate majors in Shanghai, and financial management and social work are the pilot majors of applied undergraduate majors in Shanghai. Law major (artificial intelligence law direction) is the first undergraduate enrollment in China; People's mediation, community correction and TV documentary are the first batch of undergraduate majors in China, which are highly recognized by the industry.
