Overview

I. Basic situation of law school and its development in recent years

Law school was established in 1985, formerly known as the Law Department of Gansu University of Political Science and Law. In May 2111, in order to meet the needs of the school's development, the school established a law school on the basis of the original law department and the economic law department.

The college has two undergraduate majors, law and social work, and there are 2269 full-time undergraduate students, including 2194 law majors and 175 social work majors.

In recent years, the law school has strictly followed the guiding ideology of the school, and under the correct leadership of the school, various undertakings have made great progress:

(1) Breakthrough progress has been made in the construction of master's programs and key disciplines

Under the unified arrangement of the school, all the faculty and staff of the law school have made efforts to obtain the right to confer master's degrees in five disciplines: Constitutional and Administrative Law, Criminal Law, Civil and Commercial Law, Economic Law and Litigation Law at the beginning of this year. The Law School has established 1 provincial key disciplines-civil and commercial law, and 5 school-level key disciplines-civil and commercial law, economic law, litigation law, constitutional and administrative law, and criminal law.

(II) Significant achievements have been made in the construction of teaching staff

With the support of the school, the law school has strengthened the construction of teaching staff in terms of quantity and quality through various means such as introduction, further study, training and academic exchange. In 2113, there were 92 teachers in Law School, and in 2116, there were 114 teachers. There were 34 professors and associate professors in 2113 and 44 in 2116. In 2113, there were 29 teachers with master's and doctor's degrees, and in 2116, there were 54 teachers. The increase in the number of teachers and the continuous improvement in the quality have ensured the healthy development of teaching and scientific research.

Law schools attach importance to academic exchanges with foreign countries. Since 2113, * * * has hosted five national legal academic conferences. According to the recent notice of china law society Criminal Procedure Law Research Association, our hospital will also host the 2117 annual meeting of china law society Criminal Procedure Law Research Association. In recent years, law school teachers have published nearly 41 papers in China Law, Politics and Law Forum and other core journals of law. He has published nearly 31 books and textbooks in Law Press and Lanzhou University Press. Won 15 provincial and ministerial awards. The level of scientific research achievements of law school teachers and their influence in the whole country are constantly expanding.

In the course of running a school for many years, our school has formed a school-running characteristic of "giving full play to the advantages of disciplines and actively serving the construction of local rule of law", which is mainly formed by relying on the law school. Nearly 51% of law school teachers are employed by state organs and various social organizations, and the vast majority of graduates are employed at the grass-roots level. The law school has also been identified by the Standing Committee of Gansu Provincial People's Congress as "the research base of local legislation in Gansu Province", and 14 teachers have been employed as invited researchers of local legislation of Gansu Provincial People's Congress. The social service activities for teachers and students at the grassroots and local levels have achieved remarkable results.

in recent years, law school has done a lot of fruitful work around the undergraduate teaching level evaluation under the unified arrangement of the school and combined with its own characteristics and advantages.

(1) Take various measures to strengthen the construction of dominant majors and actively carry out the construction of social work majors

In recent years, in order to strengthen the construction of dominant majors in law, the law school revised and adjusted the professional teaching plan and talent training plan in 2115 and 2116 respectively, and compiled the teaching syllabus of legal professional courses; Two provincial-level excellent courses such as civil law and constitutional law, three school-level excellent courses and nine school-level key courses were built, and 35 provincial-level and school-level excellent teaching achievement awards and excellent teaching awards were won. At present, the undergraduate law major has become the dominant undergraduate law major in Gansu province and even in Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and Xinjiang provinces. At the same time, it has become an important basic major of public security, management and political science in our school.

(II) Constantly improve teaching rules and regulations and teaching quality monitoring system, standardize teaching activities, and improve teaching quality

In the past two years, while implementing school teaching rules and regulations, law schools have formulated 14 teaching rules and regulations in combination with professional characteristics, and improved the teaching quality monitoring system through the formulation and implementation of teaching rules and regulations. (For example, the Measures for the Construction and Use of Law School Examination Database, the Code for Law School Teachers' Marking and Grading, and the Code for Law School Students' Checking Examination Papers, which are formulated in light of their own actual conditions, have improved the examination and assessment system, made the examination and assessment more fair, and are generally welcomed by teachers and students. Another example is to strengthen the supervision of teachers' classroom teaching through the Measures for the Evaluation of Teaching by Law School Students and the Measures for the Evaluation of Teaching by Law School Leaders. By strictly implementing the teaching rules and regulations and improving the teaching quality monitoring system, the teaching behavior of law school teachers is standardized, and the teaching order and effect are good.

According to the statistics of online teaching evaluation in 2114-2115, 31% of teachers in our college are excellent, 64% are good and 6% are qualified. From 2115 to 2116, 58% were excellent, 41% were good and 1% were qualified.

(3) Strengthening practical teaching to improve students' practical ability

Law school attaches great importance to improving students' basic skills through practical teaching. The main contents of practical teaching in our college include the following aspects:

1. Professional practice and training: the practice content, plan and organization of law school are clearly regulated. In order to strengthen the internship, the Law School has successively negotiated with the people's court of Chengguan District of Lanzhou City and other political and legal organs, and established 12 internship bases, which ensured the normal work of professional internship. At the same time, mock trial and other on-campus training bases have been built to improve students' practical ability through training activities such as mock trials and observation trials. 2. Graduation thesis: The Law School has formulated detailed guidance rules and specification requirements for graduation thesis, and selected serious, responsible and experienced teachers to guide graduation thesis. This activity has had a great influence in the whole school and even in colleges and universities in Gansu Province. Law school attaches great importance to carrying out second classroom activities. The Public Security Branch of Gansu University of Political Science and Law, formerly known as the Public Security Department of Gansu University of Political Science and Law, was first established in 1989. In September 1996, with the consent of the Ministry of Public Security and the approval of the provincial government, the Public Security Branch of Gansu University of Political Science and Law was established, led by Gansu Provincial Public Security Department and Gansu University of Political Science and Law.

The Public Security Branch consists of five management organizations: Party and Government Office, Educational Administration Office, Student Affairs Office, Management Office of Economic Reform and Youth League Committee. There are two research institutions, such as the Material Evidence Technology Experimental Center and the Gansu Provincial Judicial Appraisal Center. There are 76 faculty members in the branch, including 58 full-time teachers, full-time undergraduate students, master students, students undergoing restructuring, students with unplanned academic qualifications and other educational types, and there are more than 2,811 students in various schools. There are more than 5,111 graduates in the branch, and their employment covers the national public security, national security, customs, justice, military and border defense systems. Now it is one of the important bases of public security higher education in China.
