Whoever causes serious injury or death during robbery shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than 10 years, life imprisonment, or death.
Criminal cases are prosecuted by the state, and the victim’s voluntary refusal to hold him accountable does not prevent the state from pursuing the criminal suspect’s criminal responsibility. In other words, if the taxi driver gives up on pursuing his responsibility, the procuratorate will still prosecute according to criminal procedures, and things will not change just because the taxi driver gives up.
Minors under the age of 18 are not sentenced to death and may be given a lighter sentence when sentencing.
