What's the difference between Nuremberg trial and Tokyo trial? What is the reason for the difference?

The "Nuremberg Trial" (1945.8- 1949) was established in Nuremberg, Germany, by the European International Military Tribunal composed of judges from four countries, according to the Agreement on the Prosecution and Punishment of the Chief War Criminals of European Axis Countries (London Charter) signed by the Soviet Union, Britain, France and the United States after World War II. Since then, top German war criminals of different levels have been tried by domestic civil judges in the United States. "Tokyo Trial" (1946.4-1948. 1 1) is the trial of Japanese war criminals by Tokyo Far East International Military Tribunal composed of11judges. These two trials defined the connotation of war crimes in the international law of war and established a new principle of investigating individual criminal responsibility for war crimes. From 1946 to 1950, confirmed by the United Nations General Assembly, the United Nations International Law Commission compiled these principles into "Nuremberg Principles".
