Who is the jury?

The jury consists of people's jurors.

The administrative department of the people's court shall be responsible for the personnel management of the people's jurors, and the administrative department shall set up a non-permanent institution or designate a person to be responsible for the personnel management of the people's jurors.

The daily management of people's jurors' participation in trial activities shall be determined by the people's court according to the actual situation.

Jury is a group of people who swear to the judge and make a decision on a given case, especially a group of people who are summoned by law to the court to hear the case and make a final decision.

Jury is the institution that judges facts in court.

The political function of jury system to guarantee civil liberties.

On the one hand, the jury system shares judicial power through the people, restricts power with power, and guarantees civil liberties.

People's Republic of China (PRC) People's Jury Law Article 5 A citizen serving as a people's juror shall meet the following conditions:

(a) support the constitution of People's Republic of China (PRC);

(2) Having reached the age of 28;

(three) law-abiding, moral integrity, fairness and decency;

(4) Having physical conditions for normal performance of duties.

People's jurors should generally have a high school education or above.

Article 6 The following persons shall not serve as people's jurors:

(1) Members of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress, and staff of the supervisory committee, people's courts, people's procuratorates, public security organs, state security organs and judicial administrative organs;

(2) Lawyers, notaries, arbitrators and grassroots legal service workers;

(3) Other persons who are not suitable to serve as people's jurors due to their positions.

Article 7 No one may serve as a people's juror under any of the following circumstances:

(1) Having received criminal punishment;

(2) Being expelled from public office;

(3) The practicing certificates of lawyers and notaries have been revoked;

(4) Being included in the list of untrustworthy persons;

(5) Being removed from the post of people's juror due to punishment;

(six) other serious violations of law that may affect the credibility of the judiciary.
