Virtue means virtue. Virtue lies in understanding the depth of practice and learning from each other. You want to, you don't understand, but you don't understand. If you become ignorant, you can't understand it, and you can grow up in Jaken. Some people pay more attention to solving problems, so they become the knowledge of asking questions, and the knowledge of asking questions is not enough to be a teacher. Therefore, we confuse cause, causality, emptiness, nature, origin, virtue and Xiu De. It's all wishful thinking and persistence. Therefore, it deviated from the correct viewpoint and added Jaken. Others who pay more attention to doing things than understanding have no ability to understand, analyze, synthesize, induce, deduce, judge the right and wrong of evil and so on. Because of ignorance of teachings, karma is in the heart, and blind practice is blind, so growth is ignorant. Neither kind of person is desirable. The virtue of elders lies in that there is a solution in the line, and there is a line in the solution, and the line and the solution complement each other. Facts have proved that Siraitia grosvenorii can be called the virtue of the elderly. "Zeng Zeng-Agama Volume 22" says: "The roots are not lacking, and they are called elders." Anyone who covers the roots without leaking can only reach the ear if he proves that there are four Arahant saints with four fruits.
Wax refers to the methods of stopping wax and waxing. Wax abstinence refers to the number of years after the monk got the foot ring, and Falun refers to the number of years after the monk was shaved and became a monk. The last day of summer settlement every year, that is, the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month, is the "year-old day" and has since been named "one year old". When a monk receives full precepts, he is called "one precept of wax" every year, and when he becomes a monk, he is called "one method of wax" every year, which is also increasing year by year. From ten waxes to nineteen waxes, it is the middle seat of the name; From twenty waxes to forty-nine waxes, they are all famous seats; In his fifties, kings, elders and monks are all heavy. He is a famous old man who has stayed for a long time. "Those who hide their old age for a long time are also called' old elders' (see" Doing the Second Act "). It can be seen that only those who quit wax or wax must be above 50 wax can be regarded as "elders"
From the combination of the above virtues and wax, we can see that the virtue of the elders must be proved by Siraitia grosvenorii; The wax of the elders must be more than 50 wax, both of which are enough. People and heaven respect each other, so they are called "elders". Therefore, Master Ou Yi said, "Virtue and wax respect each other, hence the name" elder ". It can be seen that the title of elder is very rare in the Pure Land Sect, and it is rare and precious, which is incomparable to ordinary monks. If virtue and wax are considered separately, in this passage, the title of "elder" should be based on virtue. Therefore, master lianchi said, "As listed in the current classics, there are those who have virtue without wax and those who have wax without virtue." .
The Grand Solemn Sutra Volume I contains: Once upon a time, Tan Yue went to a temple to ask a monk to support him, but he wanted to be old (old) and mature (mature). I don't need a little monk. At that time, there were young novice monks in the temple, all of whom were arhats. All the monks and nuns wrote: "He is ignorant, unfortunate and kind, and greedy for the elderly". He also said, "The so-called elders don't have to have white hair." Another cloud says, "Those who practice Brahma are called elders." So, the monks and others turned into statues of the old man with magical power and came to Tan Yue's home. Tan Yue was very happy when he saw him. Please let him sit down. He sat for a while, still looking like a monk. Tan Yue was surprised and thought that the old man was drinking the nectar from the sky, so he was rejuvenated. Misha said to him, "I am not a hag or Luo Cha. Seeing that Tan Yue chose an old man to become a monk in Futian, he gave birth to a superior position (parting heart), ruined your good roots, and pretended to be an old man to make you repent. " Another cloud said, "You can't measure a monk's appearance. Those who seek dharma don't care about appearance, but only care about wisdom. At this point, Tan Yue listened to what he said, and his hair stood on end, kneeling on the ground, begging for mourning and repentance. Therefore, as can be seen from the above, the "elder" is, as master lianchi said, serving people with virtue and not making people with wax.
