Who is the Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong?

Secretary for Justice Huang, Senior Counsel, Justice of the Peace.

Mr. Huang was appointed Secretary for Justice in October 2005. Before becoming Secretary for Justice, he was a barrister in private practice. From July to August 2003, Mr. Huang served as a temporary judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court of Hong Kong. 1989 From 2005, he served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Bar Association for many times, and from 2003 to 2005, he served as the chairman of the Legal Education Committee of the Association.

Mr. Huang has served as Chairman of the Buildings Appeals Tribunal, Chairman of the Compensation Committee for Violence and Law Enforcement Injuries and Chairman of the Appeal Board for Non-local Higher and Professional Education. He also served as the vice chairman of the Hong Kong Starr Foundation, and served as a consultant and volunteer of the Hong Kong Christian Care for the Homeless Association.

Mr. Huang graduated from Magdalene College of Cambridge University in 1986, and obtained a bachelor's degree (law) and a master's degree (law) from Cambridge University. He was called to the British and Hong Kong Bar in 1987. In 2002, he was appointed as a Senior Counsel in Hong Kong. In 2005 10, he was appointed as a magistrate. In 2007 10, he was elected as a member of the School of Classical Law, and in 2009 he was awarded the honorary title of Academician of Magdalene College of Cambridge University.
