No matter how cruel and vicious the murderer is, will there be a lawyer to defend them and excuse them?

Criminal suspects and defendants enjoy the right of defense granted by law. No matter what charges are suspected, especially those who may be sentenced to death, if their family members do not entrust lawyers to defend them, the judicial organs shall notify the legal aid center to assign lawyers to provide legal aid.

See Article 33 of the Criminal Procedure Law. In addition to exercising the right of defense, criminal suspects and defendants may also entrust one or two people as defenders.

Paragraph 3 of Article 35: If a criminal suspect or defendant may be sentenced to life imprisonment or death without entrusting a defender, the people's court, the people's procuratorate and the public security organ shall notify the legal aid institution to defend his appointed lawyer.
