Fujian Police College is a full-time undergraduate college that focuses on cultivating people's police officers and public security professionals in public security agencies. It is the only public security institution of higher learning in Fujian Province and implements a management system under the dual leadership of the Provincial Public Security Department and the Provincial Department of Education.
The predecessor of the college was the Fujian Police Cadre School, which was founded in August 1949. In 1950, it was renamed Fujian Public Security Cadre School. In October 1984, Fujian Public Security College was founded on the basis of Fujian Public Security Cadre School. In April 2000, the Fujian Provincial People's Police School merged with the Fujian Public Security College to form the new Fujian Public Security College. The college is located in Nantai Island, Cangshan, the cultural center of Fuzhou. Covering an area of ??275 acres, the total area of ??the school building is approximately 153,000 square meters. There are 342 faculty members, including 218 full-time teachers. The college currently has 10 teaching departments, including the Department of Investigation, Department of Public Security, Department of Public Security Management, Department of Criminal Science and Technology, Department of Police Tactics, Department of Computer and Information Management, Department of Law, Department of Political Education, and Department of Basics , police system. The public security undergraduate program has four majors and nine professional directions, namely investigation (including the four professional directions of criminal investigation, internal security, drug control, police command and tactics); economic crime investigation major; criminal science and technology major (including criminal science and technology and Information network security supervision); public security major (including public security management, traffic management, public security management). Since its establishment, the college has trained more than 10,000 graduates for the political and legal institutions of our province.
