Article 30 A lawyer representing litigation legal affairs or non-litigation legal affairs shall safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of clients within the scope of entrustment.
Article 31 When acting as a defender, a lawyer shall, according to the facts and laws, put forward materials and opinions on acquittal, lighter punishment or reduction or exemption of criminal responsibility of criminal suspects and defendants, and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of criminal suspects and defendants.
At the same time, according to Article 14 of the Code of Conduct for Lawyers, lawyers shall not commit the following acts:
(1) Acts that have a bad social influence and damage the reputation of the lawyer industry;
(two) acts that hinder the judicial administrative organs of the state from exercising their functions and powers according to law;
(three) to participate in institutions, organizations or social groups prohibited by law;
(four) other acts in violation of laws, regulations, industry norms and professional ethics of the bar association.
(five) other acts that violate social morality and seriously damage the professional image of lawyers.
