Can a lawyer serve as defender for two defendants at the same time?

Legal Subjectivity:

No lawyer can defend people. People who are not lawyers can serve as defenders, but during the investigation, only lawyers can be entrusted to act as defenders. In addition to exercising their own defense rights, criminal suspects and defendants may entrust one or two people as defenders. Lawyers; people recommended by people's organizations or the unit where the criminal suspect or defendant works; guardians, relatives and friends of the criminal suspect or defendant can serve as defenders.

Legal objectivity:

Article 33 of the "Criminal Law" stipulates that in addition to exercising the right to defend, criminal suspects and defendants may also entrust one or two people as defenders. The following persons may be entrusted as defenders: (1) Lawyers; (2) People recommended by people's organizations or the unit where the criminal suspect or defendant works; (3) Guardians, relatives and friends of the criminal suspect or defendant.
