Legal aid lawyers can earn around a few hundred dollars.
1. The fees paid to lawyers in legal aid cases are usually several hundred yuan as a case handling subsidy. Of course, the fees charged to lawyers in peacetime are different. This cost is not borne by the parties involved, but paid by the state finance.
2. Theoretically, all lawyers holding a practicing license can be assigned to provide legal aid without additional qualification requirements. Each lawyer is obliged to handle one legal aid case every year, and can refuse if there are more cases.
2. What are the legal responsibilities of legal aid lawyers?
If a legal aid institution and its staff commit any of the following circumstances, the directly responsible supervisor and other directly responsible personnel will be subject to disciplinary sanctions in accordance with the law:
(1) Failure to comply Providing legal aid to people who are eligible for legal aid, or refusing to provide legal aid to people who are eligible for legal aid;
(2) Collecting property for handling legal aid cases;
(3) Engaging in paid legal services;
(4) Embezzling or misappropriating legal aid funds.
Properties collected for handling legal aid cases shall be ordered to be returned by the judicial administrative department; illegal income obtained from paid legal services shall be confiscated by the judicial administrative department; those who embezzle, privately distribute or misappropriate legal aid funds shall be ordered by the judicial administrative department to return them. The department ordered recovery. If the circumstances are serious and constitute a crime, criminal responsibility will be pursued in accordance with the law.
If a lawyer commits any of the following circumstances, the judicial administrative department shall give him a warning and order him to make corrections; if the circumstances are serious, he shall be punished by suspending his practice for not less than one month but not more than three months:
(1) Refusing to accept or terminating legal aid cases without justifiable reasons;
(2) Collecting property for handling legal aid cases.
In case of any illegal act in Item (2) of the preceding paragraph, the judicial administrative department shall order the return of illegally obtained property, and may impose a fine of not less than 0 times but not more than 3 times the value of the property collected.
If a lawyer violates professional ethics and practice disciplines when handling legal aid cases, he shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of the Lawyers Law.
