The duties of lawyers are mainly:
1. Represent the parties in litigation or non-litigation legal affairs. As the agent of the parties, lawyers are responsible for providing legal advice, issuing legal opinions, representing litigation, drafting contracts and other legal services to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the parties;
2. Maintain social fairness and justice. As a provider of legal services, lawyers have the obligation to maintain social fairness and justice, actively participate in public interest litigation and public interest legal services, safeguard the rights of vulnerable groups and promote the harmonious development of society;
3. Observe professional ethics. Admonishing is a warning punishment, the lightest punishment, and warning is a lighter punishment. Informed criticism and public condemnation are applicable to members who intentionally violate the rules, violate the rules seriously or violate the rules again after warning and admonition.
Legal basis:
Article 6 of the Rules for Punishment of Members of People's Republic of China (PRC) Lawyers Association.
Members in any of the following circumstances shall be given a heavier punishment:
(a) refusing to implement the discipline of the Disciplinary Committee of the Lawyers Association;
(2) Causing serious consequences;
(three) to take revenge on the complainant and witness;
(4) Being subject to disciplinary or administrative punishment for violating laws and regulations;
(5) Having entered into an offensive and defensive alliance after the incident, or concealing evidence or obstructing the investigation.
