Legal basis: Article 13 of the Judges Law of People's Republic of China (PRC): (1) Persons who have been criminally punished for crimes; (2) Being expelled from public office; (3) Lawyers and notaries have their practice certificates revoked or their names removed by the Arbitration Commission; (4) Other circumstances prescribed by law.

Article 7 of the People's Republic of China (PRC) People's Jury Law shall not serve as a people's juror under any of the following circumstances: (1) Having been criminally punished; (2) Being expelled from public office; (3) The practicing certificates of lawyers and notaries have been revoked; (4) Being included in the list of untrustworthy persons; (5) Being removed from the post of people's juror due to punishment; (six) other serious violations of law that may affect the credibility of the judiciary.
