Case: A witness was fined 3,000 yuan for giving perjury in court?
The Guangling Court heard a case involving rights to life, health, and body. In a dispute case, the plaintiff and the defendant dispute whether the infringement occurred or not, and the plaintiff applies for witnesses to appear in court to testify. During the trial, the witness made it clear that he did not know the plaintiff, but witnessed the whole process of the plaintiff being injured while walking in the square at night.
After the trial, court staff went to the plaintiff’s original workplace to verify the plaintiff’s income before the injury and found that the witness was the plaintiff’s boss, Wang. ?
After investigation, Wang said that the plaintiff turned out to be a worker in his factory and had worked there for a period of time. His income was calculated on a piece-by-piece basis. The more you work, the more you get. The monthly income is around 5,000 yuan. Because Wang made it clear during the trial that he did not know the plaintiff, his behavior was suspected of providing false testimony and he was summoned to court in accordance with the law. ?
After investigation and verification by the court, Wang admitted that he committed perjury. He also recognized the serious consequences of perjury and expressed his willingness to accept legal punishment.
