A 25-year-old Zhejiang man was sentenced to three and a half years for molesting young children. Why did the girl's family protest?

Mr. Zhao's family in Zhejiang moved to Fuyang, Hangzhou on April 20 19. The suspect Liu is a 25-year-old man who works in a supermarket next to Mr. Zhao's family. Immediately, they went to the police and detained Liu after the police took surveillance.

Recently, the court's verdict came out. Defendant Liu was convicted of child molestation and sentenced to three years and six months in prison.

The family of the victim girl thinks that the court decision is too light. At present, they have collected evidence and submitted a protest application to prove that Liu threatened the girl in public. Because according to Article 237 of China's Criminal Procedure Law, those who gather people to fight or threaten women in public places, or have other bad circumstances, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of more than five years. Those who molest children will also be severely punished.
