Beijing students were prosecuted for killing their girlfriends in Canada.

Eight years ago, Li Ang, a Beijing student, killed his girlfriend Zhao Wei in Canada. At the end of July last year, Li Ang was arrested in Beijing (this newspaper reported last year1October 22nd 10). At the end of April this year, Li Ang was prosecuted by the procuratorate for alleged intentional homicide. The reporter learned yesterday that the family of the victim Zhao Wei also filed a civil lawsuit with the court, demanding death compensation.

On1October 20th, 2002, 10, Zhao Wei's body was found near Stafford Lake in Mission City, Vancouver. Earlier, Zhao Wei's boyfriend Li Ang reported to the local police that Zhao Wei was missing. After investigation, the Canadian police confirmed that Leon was suspected of committing a major crime, but Li Ang had already returned to China.

Zhao Wei's mother went to Canada in June 2008. After consultation, the Canadian side indicated that the case would be tried by the Chinese side. On July 29th last year, China police arrested Li Ang in Beijing. It is understood that Li Ang strangled Zhao Wei after a quarrel. In April this year, Li Ang was prosecuted on suspicion of intentional homicide. The victim's parents entrusted Ma Guohua, a lawyer of Beijing Youtian Law Firm, to submit a criminal incidental civil complaint to the court. It is reported that Ma Guohua will represent the case for free. Zhao Wei's parents are unwilling to disclose the amount of the claim. It is understood that Li Ang's cousin Zhang Han helped Li Ang dump the body. At present, Zhang Han has been dealt with separately.
