The School of Law of Southwest University of Political Science and Law is the school-level unit with the strongest faculty, the most fruitful scientific research and teaching achievements, and the most comprehensive student level of Southwest University of Political Science and Law. The current dean is Liu Jianhong, president of the Asian Society of Criminology and internationally renowned professor. The law school currently has 68 faculty members, including 15 professors, 23 associate professors, 8 doctoral supervisors, 32 master supervisors, 14 with doctoral degrees, and 14 with doctoral degrees. The number of professors, doctoral supervisors, master's supervisors and teachers with doctorate degrees ranks first among all departments in the school.
The law school consists of the Criminal Law Teaching and Research Section, the Criminal Procedure Law Teaching and Research Section, the Civil Procedure Law Teaching and Research Section, the Drug Crime and Countermeasures Research Center, the Southern Criminal Law Research Center, the Juvenile Delinquency Research Institute, the Civil Procedure Comparative Research Center and other teaching and research institutions. . It is the only college in the school where all disciplines are provincial and ministerial key disciplines. It is among the first batch of master's degree and doctoral degree authorization units approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council.
