Film evaluation
Poison Lawyer is a highly completed commercial genre film, and the "routine" of the genre film constitutes the underlying logic of its story. Hong Kong films have a long-standing comedy style, in which "kindness" is added to the "serious" theme, and many scenes of the court are rendered without the "realistic possibility" type.
The whole plot of the film is natural and smooth, full of suspense, and the court drama is wonderful and dripping, plus the smell of Hong Kong fireworks, which makes the characters distinctive, true and delicate.
This film is the first Chinese-language film with a box office of over 100 million in the history of Hong Kong films, which broke through the pattern that Hollywood films dominated the Hong Kong market in recent years and attracted wide attention after being released in the Mainland. Different from Hong Kong-style movies such as police and bandits, action, etc., it is a legal film and is good at literature and drama. Wong Tze Wah, a well-known Cantonese talk show actor, shows his "poisonous tongue" in the film.
