Shaanxi Police Officer Vocational College is a full-time higher vocational college organized by Shaanxi provincial government, and it is also the only public security college in Shaanxi that has been recognized by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and other six departments, and enjoys the reform policy of recruiting and cultivating public security professionals. The college is headed by the provincial public security department and guided by the provincial education department. The provincial party committee and government endow the college with dual functions of higher vocational education of public security and justice and police training and education. The college has three campuses, Chanba, Yanta and Qindou, covering an area of 543.87 mu. It has formed a functional layout of "one subject and two bases" with Chanba Campus as the main body of teaching, scientific research and training, Yanta Campus as the innovative research base of public security and Qindou Campus as the training base. There are 6 public security majors and 4 non-public security majors, including public security management, road traffic management, public security management, police command and tactics, criminal investigation, network security and law enforcement, legal affairs, legal secretarial, judicial police and public security management. Public security majors enroll students in Shaanxi, and non-public security majors enroll students in 18 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, with 5 160 students. There are 39 faculty members1person and 293 full-time teachers. The college implements police management for faculty and students in accordance with the Internal Affairs Regulations of the People's Police of Public Security Organs. Since its establishment nearly 70 years ago, the college has always been based on public security and justice, serving the construction of peace and the rule of law in Shaanxi. Training more than 50,000 political and legal professionals and more than 80,000 political and legal police officers and various personnel for grassroots public security bureaus, courts, procuratorates, judicial bureaus and law firms in Shaanxi. Since the college was put on record by the Ministry of Education in 2004, it has trained a total of 16 ordinary vocational graduates, and a large number of alumni have grown into the industry backbone of the public security political and legal system.
