Eisen’s family history

E. Touqiao

Mr. Esen’s ancestors lived in Shisanwei, Xinsheng Village, Touqiao Town, Yangzhou City. The famous "E's Ancestral Hall" and "E's Wharf" in Touxiao are both buildings related to the E's clan. The original site of the "E's Ancestral Hall" in the Qing Dynasty was located in the Yingjiangyan Bridge Group, Jiusheng Village, Jintouqiao Town. It is a blue brick house with boxes in the front and back. Mr. Esen's father is Mr. Ejinbo, a famous rural sage in Touqiao history. He is the founder of "Ejia Wharf" in Touxiao. The former site of "Ejia Wharf" is located in Jiusheng Village, Hetouqiao, Jiajiang. During the Jiangzhou flood in the 20th year of the Republic of China, the wharf played an important role in transporting relief supplies and relieving rural victims. "Ejina Wharf" was built because of the "Ejina Peng" on the other side of Jiajiang River, also known as Xiaojiang. Its predecessor was Qingsijiang River. During the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, due to siltation, the river surface continued to shrink, forming large shoals. The existing Qingsi River became an inland river and is now called Jiajiang. The river passes through mainland towns north of the Han River, such as Touqiao, and connects to the Jiajiang River. According to historical records, it was precisely because "the Qingsi River silted up and became a beach, and rich households competed for the beach and land." Therefore, Mr. E Jinbo, who was the treasurer of Jinfu at the time, obtained the support of Zhou Renfeng, Zhou Renfeng, and his son Jin Baozhi with the support of Jin Shu, a wealthy man in Yangzhou City, and his son Jin Baozhi. Zhou Qingyu's "watermark rights" in Xinzhou (now Qingfeng Village, Touqiao Town, Yangzhou). At the same time, E Jinbo was still in need of a boat at "Ejiapeng" to travel to and from his old residence in the Thirteenth Wei Dynasty. Therefore, in order to facilitate the villagers to go to the seaside to reclaim land and transport firewood to the north of the Yangtze River for sale, Mr. Ejinabo built a ferry and hired a ferryman, Xiao Fuzi, to work full-time on the ferry, which was called the "Ejina Banner Wharf". In the 20th year of the Republic of China (AD 1931), a flood occurred in Jiangzhou. E Jinbo and E Sen's father and son actively participated in disaster relief. E Jin bo"...organized the transportation of a large number of daily necessities such as flour and matches back to his hometown. Under the auspices of Mr. E San (E Bingnan), they were unloaded at Ejia Terminal and distributed to the victims on the spot. The kindness of Mr. E Jinbo and Mr. E Sen It has saved the lives of many rural people who lacked food and clothing, so the frequency of oral transmission of Esen and his sons and "Ejia Wharf" among the older generation of villagers in Touqiao is very high. According to historical records in Touqiao Town and other rural areas, it is spread throughout the town. There are more than 20 families with Hubei surnames. The ranking of Hubei surnames in the past eight generations is "upright, honest and upright", which fully reflects the traditional family tradition of the Hubei clan in Touqiao Town.

Mr. Esen’s father, Mr. Ejinbo, whose real name is Eguangtao, was born in the 12th year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (June 4, 1873) at Xu No. 13, Schengenzhou, Jiutiezhou, Jiangdu County (now Guangling, Yangzhou City) Xu), No. 13, Xinsheng, Jiusheng Village, Touqiao Town. He is a descendant of the E surname. The Touqiao villagers affectionately call E Jinbo "Mr. E Da". The Touqiao family has been protecting the country and resisting foreign aggression since ancient times. Therefore, Er Jinbo's patriotism also influenced the life of Mr. E Sen, who contributed to the severe punishment of Japanese war criminals at the International Tribunal for the Far East. Many of Mr. E Jinbo's students and disciples joined the New Fourth Army during the Anti-Japanese War and embarked on a career. One of them was the famous student Mr. Liu Yusheng. After joining the army, he worked in the Enemy Affairs Department of the East China Working Committee of the New Fourth Army and stayed in the Special High-tech Division of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau. When Mr. Jin Bo was young, he went to school late because his family was poor. In the 12th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (AD 1886), he entered Touqiao Shisanwei Private School. Two years later, he went to the city to make a living as a clockmaker, learning repair skills and working hard at the same time. He learned cultural knowledge and finally became self-taught. In the 18th year of Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1892 AD), he married "Chen Ruren" (Mr. Esen's mother). By the end of the Qing Dynasty, he became a famous "celebrity (litigant)" in rural areas and nearby towns. In the early years of the Republic of China, Mr. E Jinbo served as a member of Congress and speaker of Xinzhou Township, the Third District of Jiangdu County (Note: Xinzhou Township is the name of the original administrative district in Jiangdu's history, and its jurisdiction is roughly in the southeast and south-central areas of Zhoubei, Guangling District, Yangzhou City , has long been abolished, and the original jurisdiction now belongs to Touqiao and Lidian Township). During his lifetime, Mr. E Jinbo cared about the countryside and benefited the people, and made great contributions to his hometown Touqiao during the "Jiangzhou Flood" in the 20th year of the Republic of China (1931 AD). "During this period, the villagers were grateful and collectively gave umbrellas to express their gratitude. This is a legendary story.

It is precisely because Mr. E Jinbo devoted himself to the people and actively provided disaster relief that he and Mr. Wu Daguan's uncle "Wang Dadu" (real name, courtesy name Jianren, the rural customary title of Wang, Wang Yutai, honorific Wang Dadu, rural area of ??Touqiao Township, Jiangdu County in the Republic of China) Director, rural speaker, and shopkeeper of Touqiao Wang Yutai Sauce Garden) was recorded during the "Jiangzhou Flood in the 20th Year of the Republic of China".
