What does it mean for the procuratorate to sign a confession and repentance?

The signing of confession and repentance by the procuratorate means that the criminal suspect and the defendant voluntarily and truthfully confess their crimes. Cases that have no objection to the alleged criminal facts and agree with the sentencing opinions of the procuratorate and sign a written statement can be dealt with leniently according to law.

Confession means that the criminal suspect and defendant voluntarily and truthfully confess their crimes, have no objection to the main criminal facts and charges accused by the public prosecution agency, and sign a confession and repentance. Admitting punishment means that the criminal suspect and the defendant have no objection to the type, extent and execution method of the punishment recommended by the procuratorial organ. Whether to actively return stolen goods, refund compensation, actively pay fines and actively compensate the victims' losses is also an important criterion for evaluating the criminal suspects and defendants' recognition and punishment.

The book of confession and repentance is a legal document in which the criminal suspect and the defendant voluntarily admit their mistakes or crimes, repent and turn over a new leaf, admit their criminal acts, and are willing to bear corresponding legal responsibilities.

This confession and repentance was issued by the court. If the defendant signs, it means that he agrees with his crime and accepts the punishment. Generally speaking, after signing this, the court will be lenient as appropriate.
