Lincang is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Yunnan Province, located in the southwest of Yunnan, bordering Pu 'er in the east, Dali in the north, Baoshan in the west and Myanmar in the southwest. It is located between Lancang River and Nujiang River, so it is named because it is close to Lancang River. It is a land shortcut from Kunming to Yangon, Myanmar, with three state-level open ports, 19 trade passages, 13 border trade points and five highways connecting Myanmar. By 2022, Lincang will govern 8 counties (districts) with an area of 24,000 square kilometers.
