From the above provisions, it can be seen that people who have been criminally punished can participate in the election as long as they are not deprived of their political rights, but in practice, candidates for deputies to the National People's Congress cannot be criminally punished, so people who have been criminally punished have the right to stand for election, but they will not be elected.
