The aforementioned test papers 1, 2 and 3 are machine-readable multiple-choice questions; Test paper 4 is a written example (case) analysis problem (including legal document writing).

The national judicial examination implements a national unified proposition, and the scope of the proposition is subject to the outline of the national judicial examination formulated and published by the Ministry of Justice every year.

Deadline for registration

The amount and qualified scores of the national judicial examination need to be determined according to the actual needs of the development of judges, prosecutors and lawyers. The annual amount and qualified scores shall be determined by the Ministry of Justice in consultation with the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and announced by the Ministry of Justice. Candidates who have reached the qualified score line will obtain the legal professional qualification certificate issued by the Ministry of Justice through certain procedures. Newly appointed judges, newly appointed prosecutors and practicing lawyers need to be selected from those who have obtained this certificate.
