Don't the police need to check with the suspect to report fraud?

Article 37 of the Criminal Procedure Law: When a defense lawyer meets a criminal suspect or defendant in custody, he can understand the case and provide legal advice. From the date when the case is transferred for examination and prosecution, the relevant evidence may be verified with the criminal suspect or defendant.

As a result of the examination and prosecution stage, the procuratorate decided not to prosecute or initiate public prosecution. Therefore, the greatest achievement of lawyers who assume the responsibility of defenders in the stage of examination and prosecution is to successfully persuade the procuratorate to make a decision not to prosecute suspects with limited evidence and familiar legal knowledge, or to prosecute suspects with minor charges, criminal circumstances and qualitative characteristics, or to make a decision to obtain bail pending trial. It is a very successful defense to successfully persuade the procuratorate to make a decision not to prosecute according to the specific circumstances of the case.

In the stage of examination and prosecution, defenders can verify evidence from criminal suspects and defendants, but only in the stage of investigation are they not allowed to verify evidence.
