Northwest university of politics and law is a multidisciplinary university with distinctive legal features. Philosophy, economics, management, literature and other disciplines support each other and develop harmoniously.
The school is a national training base for talents under the rule of law, known as one of the "five institutes and four departments" of the national political and legal personnel training team, an important legal education, legal research center and humanities and social science research base in northwest China, a key high-level university and a first-class discipline construction university in Shaanxi Province, a member of the "Li Ge Alliance" of national legal higher education and the "Chang 'an Alliance" of high-level universities with characteristics in xi.
The school's predecessor was the Northern Shaanxi Public School founded in Yan 'an in 1937 by China * * * Production Party. Later, there were Yan 'an University, Northwest People's Revolutionary University, Northwest Cadre School of Politics and Law, and Northwest Branch of Central Cadre School of Politics and Law. The Law Department of Northwest University changed from 65438 to 0958, and established Xi 'an College of Political Science and Law, which was later renamed northwest university of politics and law and northwest university of politics and law.
Since its establishment, the school has taken root in the west, formed an ancient fine tradition of "being firm in politics, seeking truth from facts, being brave in innovation and working hard", forged a school motto of "being rigorous and realistic, being civilized and fair", and condensed the educational concept of "belief in the rule of law, China's position, international vision and common people's feelings", and trained more than 6,543,800 talents with both ability and political integrity and both morality and law.
The school has schools of philosophy and social development, economics, rule of law, master of law education, administrative law school (discipline inspection and supervision school), criminal law school, civil and commercial law school, economic law school (intellectual property school), international law school and anti-terrorism law school (national security school).
It also has 18 teaching units such as School of Politics and Public Administration, School of Marxism, School of Public Security, School of Foreign Languages, School of Journalism and Communication, School of Business (School of Management), School of International Education, School of Continuing Education, and Ministry of Sports.
The school has a strong faculty. Journalism, philosophy and investigation are national specialties. Law, English, journalism, e-commerce and law were selected as national first-class undergraduate majors, while philosophy, economics, finance, international economy and trade, political science and administration, investigation, criminal science and technology, administration, marketing, auditing, human resource management, editing and publishing, radio and television director, sociology and other majors won awards.
Courses such as administrative law and investigation measures are national first-class courses, and nine courses such as criminal law, private international law and Marxist philosophy principles are approved as provincial first-class courses.
This school is one of the first universities in China to implement the "Excellent Legal Talents Education and Training Plan", which undertakes all three types of excellent legal talents training tasks. The innovation experimental area of legal talent training mode is a national innovation experimental area. There are seven experimental training centers, and the legal experimental training center is the first batch of national experimental teaching demonstration centers. Law, an academic journal sponsored by China, was selected as one of the "Top 30" journals of humanities and social sciences and one of the top 100 newspapers and periodicals in China.
