Is it a lawyer’s responsibility to lie?

Legal analysis: It is illegal for a lawyer to tell lies and commit perjury, and criminal liability must be strictly pursued.

Legal basis: Article 111 of the Civil Procedure Law of the People's Republic of China. If a litigation participant or other person commits any of the following acts, the people's court may impose a fine or detain him or her according to the seriousness of the case; if a crime is constituted, criminal liability shall be investigated in accordance with the law:

(1) Forging or destroying important evidence, obstructing People's courts are hearing cases;

(2) Using violence, threats, or bribery to prevent witnesses from testifying or instigating, bribing, or coercing others to give false testimony;

(3) Concealing or transferring , sell or destroy property that has been sealed or seized, or transfer property that has been counted or ordered to be kept;

(4) To treat judicial personnel, litigation participants, witnesses, translators, appraisers, investigators, Insulting, slandering, framing, beating or retaliating against judicial officers or assisting executors;

(5) Using violence, threats or other methods to obstruct judicial officers from performing their duties;

(6) Refusal to fulfill the legally effective judgment or ruling of the People's Court.
