Nanzhang County, which belongs to Xiangyang City, Hubei Province, is located in the northwest of Hubei Province, south of Hanshui River and east of Jingshan Mountain Range, and belongs to the transition zone from the mountainous area in northwest Hubei to the middle reaches of Hanshui River. It is located at11126 ′ ~12 9 ′ east longitude and 310/3 ′ ~ 32 ′ north latitude. Nanzhang county has a subtropical monsoon climate. Nanzhang County is named after Nanzhang Water in China (Nanzhang Water, now called Zhangshui or Zhanghe).

Architectural evolution:
Nanzhang has a long history. During the Spring and Autumn Period, there were three kingdoms of Chu, Luo and Lu, among which the counties belonged to Qin, Zhonglu and Linshu in Han Dynasty, Zhonglu and Linshu in Jin Dynasty, Si 'an County in the Western Wei Dynasty (about 554 AD) and Nanzhang County in the eighteenth year of Sui Dynasty (598 AD). To the Southern Song Dynasty, the county was divided and merged many times, and the administrative office was changed several times.
In the 5th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1 135), Hezhong Road and Nanzhang County were Nanzhang County, which was located in the north of Yuxi Mountain and in the middle reaches of He Man. Since then, the county name and county system have been used to this day.
