1. During criminal detention, family members are generally not allowed to meet criminal suspects, but they can entrust lawyers to defend and meet criminal suspects; Understand the case and extract favorable evidence. After detention, the detained person shall be immediately sent to the detention center for custody, and shall not exceed twenty-four hours. Unless it is impossible to notify or the notification of suspected crimes endangering national security or terrorist activities may hinder the investigation, the family members of the detained person shall be notified within 24 hours after detention.

If a criminal suspect or defendant requests to entrust a defender while in custody, the people's court, the people's procuratorate and the public security organ shall promptly convey it;
In the form of entrusted defense, if the criminal suspect or defendant is in custody, his guardian or near relative may entrust a defender to defend on his behalf;
After accepting the entrustment of a criminal suspect or defendant, the defender shall promptly inform the case-handling organ.
2. What is the longest period of criminal detention?
The longest criminal detention is 37 days and the shortest is 3 days. If the public security organ deems it necessary to arrest the detained person, it shall submit it to the people's procuratorate for examination and approval within three days after detention. Under special circumstances, the approval time can be extended by one to four days.
