For the descendants of Lin Zexu's other rooms, Lin is also a few treasures. "Lin Zexu's second son, Lin Zexu, has many children, accounting for about two-thirds of Lin Zexu's descendants." "Lin Zexu's son-in-law Liu Jia now lives in Nanjing Tokyo Pavilion" ...
In the seventeenth year of Qing Daoguang (1837), Lin Zexu's eldest daughter Lin married into the Liu family. But at that time, Liu Qi's title was not developed, just a scholar. Born an orphan, the family is still quite poor.
Smoking and drug control are as important as the mountain of political affairs, which makes Lin Zexu angry and high-spirited. How can he ignore this family? As "the first person to see the world", he also saw Liu Qi, a diligent and studious Liu family brother, out of the corner of his eye.
184 1 year, that is, the fourth year when Lin Zexu married his daughter into the Liu family, Liu Qi's title really lived up to expectations and he took the Jinshi exam with his brother Liu Qiqu.
Next, the head of the Ministry, the magistrate of De 'an, Hubei Province, and the Shaanxi Ambassador for providing foodstuff in Xi Du concurrently served as the provincial judge, the Zhejiang provincial judge and the Henan governor. This is Liu Qi's official position for the next 20 years. Lin Zexu really didn't hear wrong. Although the national strength went from bad to worse, the last dynasty became increasingly decadent and withered, but Liu Qi's career prospects slowly spread out like silks and satins.
Liu entered the business world from Liu Qi's son generation.
Liu Qi has seven sons. 1890, Liu, the eldest son of an official in Guangzhou, and his eldest brother jointly founded a sugar factory, but due to poor management and backward technology, it was quickly closed. Then at 1893, they opened another paper shop, which was destroyed by a fire.
Sons can't. It's the grandchildren's turn to show their talents.
Liu Chongyou, the eldest son of Liu Xue and the grandson of Liu Qi, was an imperial examiner in the Sino-Japanese War of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty, and later entered Waseda University. It was from him that two generations of the Liu family successively studied in Japan, the United States and Germany. At that time, it is self-evident what this extraordinary study experience will bring to the Liu family. New knowledge, new thinking and new way of life have penetrated into the blood of the Liu family, and their horizons have suddenly opened up.
Japan began the Meiji Restoration in the 1960s, and made every effort to carry out reforms in various fields, so that the tiny place entered a period of rapid development. Liu's younger brother, who studied in Japan, witnessed the prosperity of neighboring countries day by day, and his heart could not help itching. 19 10, this group of young people wearing dresses and drinking foreign ink, relying on the money left by their grandfather Liu Qi, bought Hua Yao Electric Company, which just started a year ago, but was unsustainable due to lack of funds and equipment.
"Electro-optic Liu", few people in Fuzhou know this title now, but at that time, it was almost known throughout the city.
Electrified railway factory, glass factory, ice factory, oil factory, sawmill, Lishan coal mine company, shipping company, Tian Quan Bank, several pawn shops, etc. As many as 12 enterprises were founded or invested by the Liu family and opened in succession within a few years, which was tantamount to detonating a bomb in Fuzhou at that time.
Among Liu Qi's grandchildren, Liu Chongyou and Liu Chonglun are the most outstanding.
Liu Chongyou hardly intervened in the family's business activities and was keen on other things. 19 1 1 In March, Fujian Private Law and Politics School was co-founded with Lin's father, which was one of the first three private law and politics universities in China. He is the chairman and Lin Changmin is the supervisor, that is, the principal. However, what really made him famous was not running education, nor being the deputy speaker of Fujian Provincial Consultation Bureau, but his later career as a lawyer. In Japan, he studied law, and he really loves this profession. His career is promising and his education is good. Suddenly, he turned around and became a manic barrister again.
There are two major historical events related to him.
After the May 4th Movement broke out, Fuzhou people were particularly eager to contain Japanese goods. The Japanese ambassador to China said: "Fujian hates Japan the most." 1919 165438+1016, sixty or seventy Japanese "death squads" retaliated in Taijiang by slashing young students and dissuading citizens with knives and sticks. This is the "Taijiang incident" that shocked China and foreign countries. Soon, students and shops went on strike in Fuzhou, and then the whole country responded one after another. At that time, Zhou Enlai was the leader of Tianjin Student Union, taking the lead in marching and boycotting Japanese goods. He and four student representatives went to the Zhili Provincial Office to petition and were arrested. The student union then hired Liu Chongyou as a lawyer. After Zhou Enlai was released from prison, he was recommended to study in Europe, and Liu Chongyou also gave him 500 yuan as a travel expense.
The second thing is that after the 1936 "Seven Gentlemen Case" happened, Liu Chongyou, as one of the attorneys, was impassioned in the defense. "The country has reached this point today. If you are from China, which one should not save the country? Saving the country is an obligation and a sacred right. " If it sounds Hong Zhong, every sentence will be drummed, and the sound will be endless.
But Liu Chonglun took a completely different road from his eldest brother. Most of the other brothers have gone abroad to study law, but he is different. He entered the Tokyo Institute of Advanced Technology majoring in electrical engineering, and Liu Jiaxing had a very direct relationship with him in running an electrical company. 1927,41year-old Liu Chonglun took over the whole family business. Walking on the streets of Fuzhou in the 1920s and 1930s, lofty ideals and ambitions always make people angry. Liu Xiaodi, who is not tall but has bright eyes, walks with a sonorous gait.
However, Liu Chonglun only lived for 5 1 year.
Shen Baozhen/Kloc-Juren is 0/9 years old, Jinshi is 27 years old, magistrate of Jiujiang is 35 years old, governor of Jiangxi is 4/Kloc-0 years old, minister of shipping administration of Fujian is 46 years old, and governor and minister of trade of Nanyang Liangjiang is 55 years old.
Shen Baozhen is Lin Zexu's nephew. When Shen Baozhen 13 years old, he was studying at Lin Zexu's home. Lin Zexu, then governor of Jiangsu, took a special fancy to this little nephew and thought that he was talented, earnest and practical, and would certainly succeed in the future. Therefore, he made his own decision and decided the marriage of his favorite second daughter, Lin Puqing and Shen Baozhen.
Lin Puqing
Lin Puqing is the daughter of Lin Zexu, and Shen Baojian's wife, father and husband are all famous ministers of the Qing Dynasty, so after her death, there was a painting mourning her and wrote:
Being the daughter of a famous minister, being the wife of a famous minister, Jiang Youzuo, Rong Yuan and Mrs. Kym have made great achievements;
Born and died in the Mid-Autumn Festival, the horizon is magnificent, and Shang Yun Fairy is its predecessor.
The elegiac couplet highlights one of the most brilliant things in Lin Puqing's life, that is, she wrote a book for help. The so-called heroic act of "Jiang Youzuo Rong Yuan" is comparable to Zhang Lu's wife Zhang Jinjian's birth, washing horses, riding horses and dancing swords, reflecting before and after, and making great achievements in history. Lin Puqing was born into a noble family and married a famous priest. What she did deserves to be the daughter of a noble family. Speaking of Lin Puqing's marriage to Shen Baozhen, there is another interesting story. At that time, Shen Baozhen was still a humble clerk. Fortunately, Lin Puqing's father, Lin Zexu, is a talented person and chose this "Wolong" son-in-law. Lin Zexu's way of inspecting his future son-in-law was learned from his father-in-law!
Lin Zexu's father-in-law is Zhang Shicheng, the governor of Fujian Province, and he is hungry for love all his life. While reading the official documents, I accidentally found that the handwriting of Changle County's books was rigorous and neat, and I couldn't help admiring it from beginning to end. Upon inquiry, I learned that there is a scholar named Lin Zexu in the official's son of Changle County, who works as a clerk. These books and slips are all from his hand.
Not long after, the Changle county government received an urgent official document from the Governor's Office, which was to escort Lin Zexu to the Governor's Office. Changle county magistrate wondered after seeing the official document. He knows his man Lin Zexu very well, so he won't take part in illegal things. Why was he released? The county magistrate is a kind person who takes care of the feelings of his superiors and subordinates, so he quietly found Lin Zexu, told him the contents of the official document, and took out twenty taels of silver to persuade him to fly away overnight. Lin Zexu refused the kindness of the county magistrate. He said without fear, "It's a blessing, not a curse, but a curse cannot be avoided!"! I am sitting right and doing well. If I am guilty, I am willing to serve my sentence. If I am innocent, I will definitely find out. I can't be vague! " So let the chief escort to the province.
"Don't be surprised in person, don't be angry." See Lin Zexu very calm expression. Governor Zhang Shi secretly praised him. When asked if the official documents in Changle County were really written by others, Zhang Shicheng laughed and said, "I have heard about Mr. Lin's merits for a long time, and I specially wrote fake documents. If I test your courage, I really have courage and insight! " So Lin Zexu was kept in the Governor's Mansion for reuse and soon became Zhang Shicheng's son-in-law. At the suggestion of his father-in-law, Lin Zexu won many exams and became an accomplished minister.
Later, when her daughter reached marriageable age, Lin Zexu recalled that her father-in-law chose her husband and was greatly inspired. She also adapted to local conditions and adopted a strange method to choose a husband for her daughter Lin Puqing.
It was during the reign of Daoguang, when Lin Zexu was the governor of Jiangsu, and he had a large number of aides, each with his own talents and ambitions. On New Year's Eve, the streets were full of gongs and drums and firecrackers, and all the aides went home to reunite with their families, except for the scholar who stayed in the department and worked hard. When Lin Zexu arrived at the government office, he stepped forward and asked, "Today is New Year's Eve, and all the guests have gone home. Why are you still here? "
Seeing that the governor was lucky, Shen Baozhen stood up and replied respectfully, "I haven't finished my official business yet."
Lin Zexu nodded, was silent for a while, and suddenly said; "I have a copy of the throne, which must be handed in today. It is just right for you to stay here. Help me finish before I go. "
Shen Baozhen is duty-bound. Shortly after Lin Zexu returned to his study, he sent someone to deliver a draft paper with thousands of words. Shen Baozhen just finished the work at hand, and cheer up, carefully copy the paper with yellow silk. He didn't finish copying the paper until midnight. He checked it carefully twice. I thought there was nothing wrong, so I respectfully sent it to Lin Zexu's study and set off for home.
Unexpectedly, Lin Zexu took a well-known paper and read it roughly. He was dissatisfied and said seriously, "The handwriting is scrawled and must be rewritten!" " Throw the paper on the box and stop talking.
Without further ado, Shen Baozhen went back with the paper, polished the ink again, copied the letters verbatim, and wrote more carefully than last time. Dawn, finally finished, finished reading. Lin Zexu said with a smile. "I can do it this time."
Just then, officials from the Governor's Office came to pay a New Year call. Lin Zexu said to his subordinates with great interest: "In addition to the Spring Festival today, you should also congratulate me on having a happy husband!"
"Are you happy to be a good husband?" They have never heard that Lord Lin has chosen a son-in-law. Besides, this is a family matter. Why did Lord Lin announce it so excitedly in public? Everyone can't help looking at each other.
Seeing that everyone was puzzled, Lin Zexu patted Shen Baobian on the shoulder and proudly told everyone: "This is my son-in-law!" This news not only surprised everyone, but also surprised Shen Bao himself. It turned out that Lin Zexu was in a hurry to copy the letter from the box of Shenbao last night, not for business, but for investigation. This young man, Shen Baozhen, was steady and earnest, which made him very satisfied, so he made a lifelong event for his daughter, and his style originated from his father's adult.
Soon after, Shen Baozhen and Lin Puqing got married. Lin Puqing received a pure family education since childhood. She is a virtuous, dignified and knowledgeable woman. After marriage, I helped my husband to study, and my first wife was a guest of honor. In the twenty-seventh year of Daoguang, Shen Baojian was admitted to Jinshi and was awarded the post of editor-in-chief. Later, he was transferred to the imperial censor and wrote several military books, which attracted the attention of Emperor Xianfeng. At this time, the Taiping Rebellion broke out, and Fujian and Jiangxi were at war. In view of Shen Baozhen's familiarity with military tactics, he was appointed as the magistrate of Guangxin, Jiangxi.
Shen Baozhen took his wife to work in the war-torn Guangxin area, which is located in the northeast of Jiangxi and governs Shangrao, Yushan, Yiyang, Guixi, Lead Mountain, Guangfeng and Xing 'an. At that time, the Taiping Army had captured Jinling and was taking advantage of the situation to attack on all sides. Guangxin Building is one of their goals. The local forces were limited, so in order to prevent the Taiping rebels from attacking on a large scale, Shen Baozhen set out to expand his forces as soon as he arrived.
Just when Shen Baozhen went to the counties to recruit soldiers and pay salaries, only when his wife Lin Puqing was in Shangrao, a large number of Taiping rebels flocked to try to win Shangrao City. There is no commander in chief in the city, and no one dares to come forward to command the army to protect the city. Many officials packed their soft clothes and fled with their families. Mrs. Lin Shen was advised to take refuge out of the city as soon as possible and then try to meet her husband; Lin was unmoved. Since her husband entrusted her with guarding the city, she should swear to complete the mission. People around kindly advised, "Madam is a woman after all, how can she command the army? Moreover, the strength in the city is limited, and the Taiping Army will soon break into the city. "
Lin Puqing shook his head firmly and said quietly, "You can run for your lives, but I can't go. I am determined to be with Shangrao City! " To show her determination, she pointed to the well in the yard and said, "If the city is broken, this is my residence."
Fortunately, I am usually influenced by my father and husband. Lin Puqing also knows a thing or two about combat tactics, and her personality is also influenced by her father, so she can act calmly in a crisis. She found the chief garrison commander in the city, discussed the strategy of guarding the city, opened the vault without hesitation, and took out all the grain reserves. The defenders fought bloody battles on the wall, while Lin Puqing personally led the women in the city to cook and send them to the wall. The soldiers in the army were deeply moved by Mrs. Shen's righteous act and took an oath to defend the city.
However, after all, outnumbered, the situation in the city is becoming more and more critical. Lin Puqing thought of Rao Tingxuan, the company commander of Yushan Town, not far from Shangrao. He used to be an old subordinate of Lin Zexu. Now only by asking him to send troops to help can we solve Shangrao's urgent need. But there is also a tense war in Yushan Town. Is Rao's company commander willing to risk saving him? In order to move Rao Tingxuan, Lin Puqing bit his middle finger and wrote a distress letter in blood.
The thief has been trapped in Guixi, Shangrao is in danger, and the thief first corrected 70 thousand people, attacked by hundreds of ways, defended his position, went out of the city to recruit soldiers, and even went to Hekou for a raise. Thousands of men and women have died in this city, and their lives are on the line. With 3,000 troops, the barracks lifted the siege of Jiaxing. It is brave and brilliant, and both the ruling and the opposition fell in love with it. Today, I heard that the Yushan garrison is close at hand, and I am waiting for help. Life and death are flesh and blood, and I am the one who wants to be a general.
The bloody book for help was sent out, but even if reinforcements arrived, it would take two days before and after, for dangerous soldiers. Morale is the most important thing. Lin Puqing climbed the wall and loudly encouraged the soldiers guarding the city: "Warriors, our reinforcements will arrive soon. As long as we persist for another day or two, the enemy will be defeated by us! "
Considering that the Taiping Army is used to attacking the city with earthworm-rolling tactics (that is, digging tunnels), it is often impossible to prevent. Lin Zengqing thought hard and was determined to find a way to deal with it. In view of this tactic, the ancients often used the method of burying the urn and listening to the sound to predict the situation, but for a time, it was difficult to find so many shared urns in Shangrao City. What shall we do? Lin Zengshen finally came up with a brilliant plan, and immediately ordered the soldiers guarding the city to dig a trench along the inside of the city wall, which must be eight feet deep and five feet wide, so that once the enemy attacked the city from the ground, they would inevitably enter the trench without leaving a trace.
In addition, Rao Tingxuan, the company commander of Yushan Town, received Lin Puqing's bloody book for help and was deeply moved by her kindness. He immediately took out thousands of soldiers and horses and rushed to Shangrao for reinforcements overnight. At the same time, Shen Baozhen, who was recruiting outside, got the news that Shangrao City was besieged and went to Shangrao day and night. Since then, the three men fought bloody battles for seven days and seven nights, and finally rescued the siege of Shangrao.
Later, the court awarded him meritorious service, and Shen Baozhen was promoted to the governor of Jiangxi. Although Mrs Lin Puqing was not rewarded by the imperial court, her contribution was deeply remembered by local soldiers and civilians. Until her death, people called her a heroine with both wisdom and courage. She really deserves to be a noble daughter.
Zuo was born on the seventh day of October in the seventeenth year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty (181215438+00). He has three sisters and two brothers. After he was fifteen, he was engaged in a deep mountain in Xiangxiang, Xiangtan, and was adopted by a family named Zhou. The woman was born in the same year as Zuo. She was born in a scholarly family with a well-off family. Her father, Zhou Heng, has passed away, and her mother, Mrs. Wang, is a good wife and mother. Zhou studied with his mother since childhood and wrote poems and songs, but he was not inferior. She is not only good at poetry, but also virtuous. Four daughters were born after four years of marriage. His mother-in-law and his wife are very kind to him. Because Mrs. Zhou was weak and worried about the children, Zuo married his wife at the age of twenty-five, and Zhou's maid Zhang was his concubine. When they got married, they gave birth to a daughter for him.
Zuo Jia and Hu Jia used to be family friends. Hu Dayuan, a native of Yiyang, Hunan, studied under Zuo Guanlan at Yuelu Academy in Changsha in his early years. They have deep friendship and affection. Hu Linyi and Zuo were classmates in the same year and later became relatives. He was born in June of the seventeenth year of Jiaqing, four months older than Zuo, and also studied under He Xiling. He was smart since he was a child. When he was 8 years old, he was taken by Tao Shu and recruited as a son-in-law.
In the eighteenth year of Daoguang (1838), Zuo went to Beijing for the third time and failed. On his way home from the south, he made a detour to Nanjing to see Tao Shu. Tao Shu did not take the repeated failures of Left as his original intention. He sincerely entertained him and stayed in the Governor's Office for more than ten days, "making friends and talking with relatives and friends". One day, Tao Shu proposed betrothing his only son (only five years old) to Xiao Yu, his eldest daughter, who was five years old. At that time, Tao Shu was 60 years old and Zuo was only 27 years old. In order to avoid the suspicion of "climbing the door", Zuo declined politely on the grounds of in-laws status, family status and position. Tao Shu laughed: "Zuo Jun doesn't have to mind. With your talent, your position will definitely be higher than ours in the future. " He still insists on getting married. Zuo also said that "the times are not suitable." Seeing that his words were firm, Tao Shu temporarily put down the discussion of marriage, but entrusted Zuo to teach his son in the future. Tao Shu was a famous government official at that time. He proposed to a poor juren who could do his best, which shows how much he valued Zuo's talent and character. Due to Mrs. Tao's repeated mention and Mr. He Xiling's repeated urging, Zuo promised to marry his eldest daughter Xiaoyu, and in this way, what Tao Shu mentioned before was solved.
Tao Shu (1779- 1839) and Zuo (18 12- 1885) are the predecessors of Zuo in Anhua, Hunan.
Zuo Yes, teacher.
Tao Xun, the son of Tao Shu, married Xiaoyu, the eldest daughter of Zuo.
Hu Linyi (1812 ~1861year) is Zuo's classmate, and Hu Linyi is Tao Shu's son-in-law.
Who is Zhou Xiying? According to the records in Qing Draft and Qing Zhu, he was a native of Xiangtan County, and he was a scholar for fifty-eight years (1793). After many promotions, he studied politics in Shanxi and Fujian and served as assistant minister of the Ministry of War. Because of his brilliant writing and profound knowledge, he won the appreciation of Emperor Jiaqing, and he was appointed as the teacher of Miankai, the third son of Jiaqing.
Zhou Xiying and Tao Zhe are children in-laws. When he was in charge of studying politics in Fujian, he appreciated Lin Zexu very much and tried his best to support him, making a lot of efforts for Lin Zexu in politics. His eldest son, Zhou Kesheng, has a friendly relationship with Lin Zexu and often discusses politics with him.
Tao Shu and Lin Zexu met in imperial academy and worked in Jiangsu for many years. They are like-minded and have deep feelings.
Lin Zexu's father-in-law is Zhang Shicheng, the governor of Fujian.
Lin Zexu (1785 ~ 1850) is the predecessor of Zuo (18 12- 1885).
Shen Baozhen is Lin Zexu's nephew.
Shen Baozhen's wife Lin Puqing is Lin Zexu's second daughter.
