The main responsibilities of the People's Court:
The Supreme People's Court is the highest judicial organ. It supervises the trial work of local people's courts at all levels and specialized people's courts. The committee is responsible for and reports on its work, and mainly performs the following duties:
1. Criminal, civil, administrative, maritime and other first-instance cases that are under the jurisdiction of the Supreme People's Court in accordance with the law and should be tried by the Supreme People's Court;

8. Make judicial interpretations on the specific application of law in the trial process;

Provide ideological and political education to judges and other staff of the Supreme People’s Court , organize professional training; guide the ideological and political work and education and training work of lower people's courts; manage judges and other staff according to their powers; assist the central competent authorities in managing the organization and establishment of local people's courts and specialized people's courts;
14. Lead the supervision work of the people's courts;
15. Organize judicial exchange activities between people's courts at all levels and foreign judicial circles and international organizations;
16. Promote the rule of law in judicial work , educate citizens to consciously abide by the Constitution and laws;
17. Manage public institutions and social groups directly under the Supreme People's Court;
18. Undertake other tasks that should be undertaken by the Supreme People's Court.
