The People's Procuratorate of Zhaoyang District, Zhaotong City is the national legal supervision agency. Its main task is to perform legal supervision functions in accordance with the law and ensure the unified and correct implementation of national laws. The main responsibilities are as follows:
1. Review cases investigated by public security agencies, national security agencies and other investigative agencies, and decide whether to arrest or prosecute. Supervise the legality of the investigative activities of the investigative agencies;
2. Prosecute criminal cases and support public prosecutions; supervise whether the criminal judgments and rulings of the People's Court are correct and whether the trial activities are legal;
3. Carry out legal supervision over the criminal activities of prisons, detention centers and other execution agencies;
4. Carry out legal supervision over the civil trial activities of the People's Court, and lodge a protest if it is found that the effective judgments and rulings of the People's Court violate laws and regulations;
5. Implement legal supervision over administrative litigation. If the People's Court finds that an effective judgment or ruling violates laws and regulations, it shall lodge a protest in accordance with the law;
6. Responsible for other matters that should be handled by the Zhaoyang District People's Procuratorate.
