"Breaking Silence" is an excellent film directed by emerging director Xin Yukun and starring Song Yang, Jiang Wu, and Yuan Wenkang. The film centers on Zhang Baomin's journey to find his son, highlighting the conflicts between the bourgeoisie, the middle class and the proletariat, who are constantly falling downwards in the darkness.
During the severe cold winter in the north, in a small mining town in the north, a young shepherd walked with his family's sheep in the mountains and stopped to look at the shallow river gorge. Two days later, miner Zhang Baomin (played by Song Yang) rushed home after learning that his son was missing. Three days later, the daughter of lawyer Xu Wenjie (played by Yuan Wenkang) also rushed home. He picked up the phone and called the only suspect he could think of - the black-and-white coal boss Chang Wannian (played by Jiang Wu).
The mute who lost his son can only speak with his fists, the lawyers’ out-of-court deals behind the scenes, and the thugs who love to do good but do evil behind the scenes, all the original sins contained in human nature are infinitely magnified in this movie , mines, wilderness, people looking for children have lost their way, and two originally unrelated disappearance cases are unexpectedly connected, turbulent, silent, and sonorous.
