Can the family meet in the investigation stage

Investigation refers to the process of criminal proceedings, the investigating authorities to find out the case, collect criminal evidence material, confirm and capture suspects, criminal responsibility for criminal suspects, a series of special investigation means and compulsory measures. Therefore, the investigation stage family can not meet with the suspect, the suspect in detention or arrest period, only can defend the lawyer himself to meet, the lawyer can not bring the suspect's relatives to visit. Article 34 of the Criminal Procedure Law provides that a criminal suspect shall have the right to appoint a defender from the date of the first interrogation or compulsory measures taken by the investigating authorities; during the period of investigation, only a lawyer may be appointed as a defender. The defendant has the right to appoint a defender at any time. The investigative organ shall inform the criminal suspect of his right to appoint a defender when he is first interrogated or when compulsory measures are taken against him. The people's procuratorate shall, within three days from the date of receipt of the case materials transferred for examination and prosecution, inform the criminal suspect of his right to appoint a defender. The people's court shall, within three days from the date of accepting the case, inform the defendant of his right to appoint a defender. Where a criminal suspect or defendant requests to appoint a defender while in custody, the people's court, the people's procuratorate and the public security organ shall promptly convey his or her request. If the suspect or defendant is in custody, his or her guardian or close relative may appoint a defender on his or her behalf. The defender accepts the criminal suspect, the defendant entrusted, shall promptly inform the authorities handling the case.
