Beijing International Marathon is a world-class marathon event recognized by IAAF and AIMS. In 2009, Beijing International Marathon won the honor of the IAAF gold medal event again, becoming one of the eleven gold medal marathon events in the world (other gold medal events are: Paris, Osaka, Boston, Hamburg, London, Xiamen, Berlin, Chicago, Frankfurt and new york).
Men's and women's marathon prizes are equal, and both men's and women's champion prizes are $20,000.
