2020 New Standards for Safety Colors and Safety Signs

The new standard defines the principles and requirements for use. GB/T 2893.5-2020 "Safety Colors and Safety Signs for Graphical Symbols Part 5: Principles and Requirements for the Use of Safety Signs" was jointly issued by the State Administration of Market Supervision and the State Standardization Administration on March 3, 2020, and came into force on June, 2020.

Second, the preparation background

GB/T 2893.5-2020 "Safety Colors and Safety Signs for Graphical Symbols Part 5: Principles and Requirements for the Use of Safety Signs" was put forward by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Graphical Symbols (SAC/TC 59) and drafted by China National Institute of Standardization, National Railway Administration and National Center for Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction.

Third, the scope of application

The purpose of this standard is to specify the principles and requirements for the selection, combination and setting of safety signs in practical use.

This standard applies to safety signs used in public places, workplaces or public buildings except private houses.
