At stall 165 on the second floor of Yangjiaping Market in Jiulongpo, Chongqing, Deng and his wife Tang XXX are selling fresh meat. The victim Su XXX and his wife Shen XXX were selling fresh meat at an adjacent stall. The two sides often quarreled over competition for customers, a long-standing grievance. At noon on July 14, 2020, Deng’s wife Tang Moumou was selling meat at the stall. She sued a man who got into a fight over a client. After Deng joined, he found that she and Su had a quarrel. During this period, she also picked up a knife from the stall and prepared to file a lawsuit against xyz theory, but her wife.

As the quarrel between the two parties became increasingly fierce, Deng and Su had a physical conflict. During the fight, Deng picked up a bayonet from stall 164 and stabbed Su in the head and neck. The Fifth Branch of the Chongqing Municipal People's Procuratorate stated that Deng deliberately injured others, causing the death of two people, and should be prosecuted for intentional homicide. Subsequently, a public prosecution was filed with the local court, requesting the court to make a ruling in accordance with the law.

The case was heard at the No. 5 Intermediate People’s Hospital of Chongqing on March 1. After the trial, the presiding judge adjourned the trial and announced the verdict later. Lawyers representing the victim's family said that so far, Du's family has not expressed any form of sympathy or apology to the victim's family. The victim's family decided to withdraw the civil lawsuit related to the criminal case, hoping only that the court would severely punish the murderer.
